You got it. Hairston is a part of the Hornets

We're this years Detroit.

He's not that raw either.

First things first. He got Dr. J hands! MJ is loving that since he has a hand obsession.

Love his size and rebounding and that he can finish with both hands. Anyone know much about his defense or how aggressive he is?

I love the starter jacket! Pretty cool bit of nostalgia that they had one waiting for our draft pick.

Surprise, surprise, I don't like the pick. His footwork is really slow and predictable, his shooting sample is scarily small and I'm almost certain he fell for a reason. I think he'll be an undersized C*, he's just way too slow to guard lots of PFs. Maybe he'll develop into something but considering our track record, I doubt it.

*he's got good length to play C, just not height. He's young though, maybe he grows.

Your opinions are becoming more irrelevant as you seem to not like anyone.

at least he can execute a simple hook without making it look like it was the most impossible shot of his career like every post move Randle attempted in his college career.

I'm interested to see what we do in free agency now. Vonleh is an interesting fit.

We may have come out with a guy that can eventually play both sides of the ball pretty well too. I didn't see that happening at #9 initially.

And we're never very good, hmm, startling correlation.

I will say this, this is one of our better drafts. I can't say anything too definitive about Vonleh's impact but at 9 he was definitely worth kicking the tires on. We got the best available shooter with the 26th in Hairston, and he actually has good size for his position and decent handles so that's a win if he doesn't go to jail.

We offloaded Haywood's dusty corpse to free up some cap space, help us resign McBob or throw more money at a big time FA. And Semaj Christon gives us a cheap, big, back up PG that has some decent upside.

If Vonleh is quicker than I think he is and can actually stretch the four, that's an excellent fit next to Al. It all hinges on how fast we can get him going, we can't have the usual slow out the gates form our rooks usually have, not if we're gonna make some serious noise next year.

He seems pretty physical in those videos, should be a nice contrast to Zeller.

The only problem I have with Vonleh is his demeanor. He has a pretty shot. He has good defensive instincts on the block and can get easy blocks and steals with his massive hands and arms. Appears to move fluidly on offense. Finishes (and actually dunks!) with relative ease. If he comes in and works hard, and his shot is as money as it looks, I can see Horford/Bosh combo.

He's not selling me on being Aldridge 2.0 until he shows he can hit that shot in actual games, but he seems confident. But so did Zeller.

I would prefer to start Vonleh this season if he can hit the shot, and spend our money on a great SG over a lesser one and McBob

I hated this pick at first, but it's growing on me now that I've looked into Vonleh's game and how he could be a Bosh clone on the court. Good value at least.

Oh, and he has excellent touch with BOTH hands, and his hands are magnificently big. It will be hard to bust if he can go left or right, and finish with either hand.

Love it. I had a feeling one of the top 8 would fall. I was hoping it was Randle or Vonleh, but hoping more for Randle. Good that we got him though and I still like the pick. A young talented big men that can already be a dominate rebounder is rare. I think right from the start we can expect to see 10+ rebounds when given a decent amount of minutes. Not too mention his ability to shoot from three. He reminds me of Horace Grant/Al Horford but with the ability to step out and shoot the three.

Don't think he's close to Horford when it comes to the mid-range game quite yet. Hordford's got that elbow shot down pat.

Hes nowhere near Horford yet, but his jumper is fast, fluid, and has range. If he connects, then I can see it in 2-3 years.
