Were just fine in the playoff hunt. Just loss to a better team even without Durant. To hell with tanking.

MIA just got clobbered by the Pelicans. They aren't a threat without Bosh.
It's between us, DET, BRK and IND for the 7 and 8 seeds. It's not impossible that MIL falls apart with MCW at the helm instead of Knight.

Milwaukee is about to get a rude awakening. Terrible trade for them.

I wouldn't count MIA out after just one game. They have to get adjusted to being without Bosh and adding Dragic. However I do think Dragic is kinda overrated after a one hit wonder year in which he still couldn't put PHX in the playoffs so that's that. I'm optimistic that we can stay in the playoff hunt with MKG back tho.

Honestly I counted them out as soon as I heard about Bosh. He is such a major part of their team that I don't see them getting by without him given their limited depth, even with Dragic aboard.
I am very glad we didn't trade for Dragic, but I'm not sold one way or the other on him. He could be a star or he could be good but not great.

I just made this excel file in 2 min if you want to see how many games we will win regarding our schedule.
With my bold prediction, we'd end up 37-45

100% agree. If we're the worst team of the lot we'll naturally sink to the bottom. I would hate to see it but so be it, at least we gave it our all and know the true value of our players. I wouldn't be able to stand throwing away a perfectly good opportunity to compete for a playoff spot just to move up 3-4 spots in the draft. If another organization and their fans can live with that good for them, but I'd prefer the Charlotte Hornets focus on winning rather than losing at all times.
Even when the Bobcats were the worst team in history they "earned" that title through incompetence, not intentional tanking, or at least it certainly seemed that way to me. Still gets under my skin to this day when Philly fans cry "yeah, but Charlotte did this a few years ago too!" as a defense for Hinkie's crap. Simply not true. That team had like a 4+ game lead in the race for the worst record, it didn't need to tank to finish last, the roster and coach just sucked.

Nice tool! I have us breaking even at 41-41. That would get us to 7th, which right now is a 1st round matchup with TORONTO

Re: Hornets Playoff Watch
We knew these games would be tough, which is why we really needed to close out that stretch before the break. Dropping those games killed us.

Lol. 2 weeks ago or so we were on a roll. Now were on a 5 game losing streak and only a couple games away from the 6th pick in the draft. Im beyond disgusted.

Re: Hornets Playoff Watch
You can look at it as we're in 11th, or you can look at it as we're a 1/2 game out of the 8th seed. I didn't expect us to win tonight, but the way we lost was very disappointing.

Re: Hornets Playoff Watch
Our two highest paid players scored 19 points on 31 shots
I can't speak for everyone but I for one am ready for the guys we drafted to get paid the big bucks. Check 1 to Kemba, next up Biyombo and MKG.

It's probably over for the Hornets. After we lose to the Bulls tomorrow, we need to win the next four winnable games (Boston, Orlando, Lakers, Nets). That way we stay in the race. If we get too far behind I wonder if Kemba even comes back.

Re: Hornets Playoff Watch
Honestly I am feeling just losing the rest of the way and trading the top 7 pick we may get in a package for a established player.

I feel like this next draft is one where trading a mid-lottery pick for an established player would be perfect for us. Obviously, if we get a top 3 pick and can do something amazing like pair Kemba with D'Angelo Russell then we do it, but if we get a pick out of the top 5 I'd trade it for an established SG, assuming they were a good fit, not old, and not making a billion dollars a year.
