Re: Welcome to Charlotte Jeremy Lin
That is a fantastic deal for us, expires just in time for Curry to hit free agency. I'm pretty sure it's $4 million plus though, not two. It's highly robbery if we're paying him the same money Roberts is getting.

Re: Welcome to Charlotte Jeremy Lin
I know Lin idolizes Michael Jordan, but 2 mill per? Holy hell. Clifford must have told him he was going to give him eagle powers if he signed here.

wow only 2mil per year? He could've gotten more somewhere else. This says a lot about Lin as a person.

no way he agrees to sign for $2M per unless he was guaranteed something like starter minutes.

Re: Welcome to Charlotte Jeremy Lin
Jeremy Lin is perfectly suited for the 6th man role on this team. Excellent signing and makes up a bit for the sting of losing Biyombo.
I only worry about not having a rim protector. Lin/Lamb/Kaminsky in the 2nd unit offer no defense whatsoever. We needed Biz to complete that 2nd unit.
I think this makes us a bonafide playoff team barring huge injuries like last season.

Must have been guaranteed the starting spot to come here for that.

Someone must have woke Bonnell up. He finally chimed in about 30 minutes late.

We still have the entire MLE to go after a big man ... except there's not much left

Re: Welcome to Charlotte Jeremy Lin
Look at the minutes our backup PGs get. He will get the minutes he wants easily here. We run two a good deal of the time anyway and Lin can play the 2. Man the pick and rolls with Biz could have been amazing.

I don't see how else they would be able to convince Lin to come to Charlotte for $2M per.

Jeremy Lin 林書豪: My number 1 priority was finding the best opportunity to get the most minutes playing my style of play. Wont get too much into it, but Charlotte was by far the best choice. Spoke to Coach Clifford for a couple hours and really understands my game. I feel like he will bring out the best in me.
Greg Lau: Will you be backing up Kemba or doing more shooting guard? Hornets could use both I think.
Jeremy Lin: 林書豪 They want me at both the 1 and the 2, as well as running lots of pick and rolls. Great fit and opportunity!!

Re: Welcome to Charlotte Jeremy Lin
With the money we saved on Lin pull a Clippers and steal Biz back from Toronto with the MLE and we would be set.

You guys are going to get pissed when Walker / Lin / Batum finish games and MKG is on the bench.

Re: Welcome to Charlotte Jeremy Lin
Wow. I did not see this coming. Thought for sure he was headed to Dallas. I wonder if the Jordan situation changed his destination. He has the size to play next to Kemba at times. Gives us insurance in case Kemba gets hurt or struggles. Great in the pick and roll, which should do wonders for Frank on the second unit. Solid 3pt shooter. And brings us an ton of new fans from Asia.

Re: Welcome to Charlotte Jeremy Lin
I except our rotation will look like:
Al (32mpg) / Hawes (16)
Zeller (24) / Frank (14) / Marv (10)
MKG (32) / Batum (16)
Batum (16) / Lamb (16) / Daniels / (10) / Lin (6)
Kemba (32) / Lin (16)
And then Clifford will cut at least one player out of that rotation. Lin won't get starter minutes, but 20-24 minutes is typical 6th-7th man playing time, which is what Lin is. We played Ramon Sessions 24mpg while he was here. I expect the same deal with Lin.

Maybe. Honestly it's going to depend on if the team wins those games or not. I also think that we will see MKG at PF for some of those games too.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody
