Re: 2017 NBA Draft Day Thread
I can tell Mitchell is the pick purely based on how many posters on this board are already angry about the pick. But, I predict it will get even uglier for those who don't like Mitchell. My guess it one of Monk, Lauri or Ntilikina will be on the board when we take Mitchell at 11. We will find out at some point during the draft the Hornets passed up several juicy offers for the 11th pick. Also expect for our pick to be universally panned by critics on twitter and media. Commence board meltdown and fire Cho comments in 3 hours.

That's the finest hedge I've heard in a while. Well done.

fat that is my exact worry. I remember how mad everyone was when winslow was there and we picked frank.
Looking back I don' think that was bad (not picking booker or turner is the problem) but I see something very similar happening tonight.
But hey maybe moitchell is the next fat lever! Triple double machine.

This seems about right...Im fairly confident that if Fultz fell and we drafted him we'd still get panned by the media. "Why would they draft a guy who plays the same position as their all star, just MJ being MJ, what an idiot"

Hoping its a Gary Harris situation where we all hated Harris and was sure he was the pick but we took the falling Vonleh instead. Funny that Harris is clearly the better player though.
Want no part of Mitchell based on the very slim research I did

But this isn't Fultz. This is passing on a better player because we are stuck on a weaker guy. It isn't the media giving undue criticism in this situation. Most people have said it is a 10 person draft so if one of those ten falls and we pass on them it is a valid complaint.

If that happens I'm just gonna live underground the rest of my life. If monk falls to us it's a gift from above.

This is pretty much a guarantee with our FO. Trades and transactions - they are solid for the most part. Drafting - I border on vomitting every time the clock starts ticking for us.
No doubt there will be at least 1 guy sitting there at 11 that should've gone earlier and we will stay focused on the selection that was already pre-made a week ago.
I don't dislike Mitchell, but I will have a serious issue if we overlook more talented players that would fit because we can't think on the fly or in real time.

Do y'all think #11 could get us Kyle Korver?

DSJ or Monk will fall and Cho will take Mitchell anyway. I can see the draft chat exploding now!

Re: 2017 NBA Draft Day Thread
I want the Hornets to have no part in this LMA trade discussions. He makes no sense for our roster. We'd have to give up too many assets for him leaving us with no depth. LMA and Howard does not fit the 4 out system Cliff wants to play.

He can probably shoot threes well, but he would be a bad move regardless.

Not really a hedge for me though. I'm totally fine with us taking Mitchell, even though I would prefer the upside of Monk or Ntilikina. I love Mitchell's personality, so part of it for me is just having a player that I genuinely want to root for, like Kemba, MKG, Cody and Biz... I also really want to add a two-way player. But, I also hate seeing our team get trashed in the media, so the other half of me wants us to pick the guy that generates the most positive reaction, as shallow as that might be.

Im definitely tired of trying to defend every move my teams make to people who dont know anything about them...Like it was kind of nice to see the Panthers actually getting praise for their draft this year by most people.

Jay Williams on ESPN reporting a story about how Phil Jackson fell asleep in the middle of a recent draft workout, as reported to him by the players in the workout. Seriously, the Knicks are a dumpster fire.

Re: 2017 NBA Draft Day Thread
The night we drafted Morrison broke me forever. I was furious that night - had a full blown hissy fit.
Since then I've been fairly indifferent and willing to give anyone we draft a fair chance.
Tonight is no different. I'm SUPER excited for the draft but not overly invested in someone so much that if we pass on them I'll flip my ****.
