Y'all got a great deal here. Willy is a finesse player, but a great rebounder, nice interior player with a soft touch, great cutter, good passer, and smart. He needs a lot of work on defense, but he's light on his feet and showed some ability over the last two years.

I like Willy and hope he kills it for you. I'll keep saying this over and over again, but we should have traded Enes over Willy. :-? Ah well. Enjoy!

Bernard Robinson Jr?
Ryan Hollins?
Kyle Weaver?
Derrick Brown?
Robert Vaden?
Jeremy Tyler?
Jeffery Taylor?
Dwight Powell?
Juan Pablo Vaulet?
Frank Jackson?
Dwayne Bacon?

I'm totally fine with taking two of our future seconds and getting someone who can play and contribute. Now we need to get our roster more balanced.

I liked Jeffery Taylor...what happened to him??

Jeff Taylor was trash before and after the injury.

Right... frontcourt depth is the problem...

I was amazed at the start of the year when the team didn't have 3 true centers on the roster. (I was counting Frank as a PF who could rotate over to C as needed)

I mean look at what they started with each year prior:
16-17 Zeller, Hawes, & Hibbert
15-16 Al, Zeller, & Hawes
14-15 Al, Zeller, & Biz
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I am an avid basketball fan and I legit don't even know who this guy is. Don't see this one pushing the needle much.

I’m trying to understand this from the Knicks perspective. I’m about to go to their board to see if I can get some insight. I’ve heard that Hernangomez is a complainer when he’s not getting enough playing time. Maybe he’s a locker room malcontent lol.

Wouldn't necessarily call him a complainer, but he wanted minutes and basically asked to be traded. The NY Media also fed into it by interviewing him all the time and he basically leaked info out to them. However, Kanter basically beat up Willy in training camp and Willy showed up out of shape. He looks pudgy out there. He might help you out next season though as long as he's in shape and if Clifford can make sure he plays decent defense

JOB is hot trash. I've never see a guy as bad he is so entitled to shoot. He does nothing else at an NBA level either. His defense is trash, he can't rebound, he can't hold his position, he refuses to pass, he can't put the ball on the floor - he's not even a good athlete.

Hopefully he gets it together the next time he gets a shot in the league. Dude was awful on a team that would've taken anything.

Willie is a solid player but the Kanter trade pretty much bodied his chances of playing much in NY this year. Also, I hope this trade means Kaminsky is on the way out.

I wonder if we're going to be trading Willy somewhere else. It just doesn't make much sense to me if we're fighting for playoffs to give him any meaningful minutes for awhile, so why'd we pick him up? Unless we just see him as a more long term option than JOB. Trading the 2nds must mean that we aren't planning on tanking anytime soon though.

I like the move. Cho usually does well with these sorts of trades involving fringe players and 2nd round picks.

I like Hernangomez, but I also wonder how we intend to give him any minutes. If I were Frank/Dwight/Cody I'd be nervous.

He's only being paid 1.5 mil/year until 2020. This helps us shore up with an upgraded JOB at small cost. It's all about creating space to sign Kemba now.

seems like a typical Cho trade, trying to fish out a cheap asset.

one of his strengths, lets hope Willy works out.
