Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
Mitchell Robinson, 8th pick, AND a future 1st or Barrett to get in top 3?
I would definitely give up #3 and Miles for #8, future 1st, Barrett

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
Glad to see those bull offers of Mitch Robinson and 8 aren’t getting them into top 3.

Hell give me 8 and Barrett for 3. Take OO at 8 and then were ready to roll.

I'll go a step further, keep all your players and give me 8 and next year top 3 protected, then 2022 top 1 protected. Play the odds

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
Yeah you can’t trade firsts in three consecutive drafts and also that’s a package you get for a top player, not a top 3 pick

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
Ball falling to the Hornets at 3 and then flipping him to either the Knicks or the Pistons is best case scenario for this draft in my opinion. We could still pick up a really good player at seven or eight, and grab a few solid assets.

I support trading back as I would take Maxey, Okongwu, Hayes over Wiseman
I think the Knicks would do it. You put Miles at the 4 and he's a star. Shades of former small Knicks pf's ala Mason, LJ. A lot of sf's exploded after being moved to pf's. Marion I think is a good comparison. Odom took off after switching to pf. More recent examples were Bojan Bodganovic in Utah and the bubble version of TJ Warren. The Suns also experienced this in the bubble with Cameron Johnson.
???
if it was that simple, then why don't WE put Miles at the 4 and get a star?
Because PJ is better and could be a superstar at the 4 and you can’t move PJ to the 5 and be super small at both positions.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
So I guess Knicks either lose Barrett or pay Westbrook. Lol and we're picking in their pre-lotto spot while they're picking in ours. It only makes sense to trade places with us again!
It has been written...

Just MHO, but Ball is the guy both the Warriors and the T-Wolves want if they can't trade the pick.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
I'd trade the #3 for Barrett, MRob, and #8 in a heartbeat. I'll even give them Monk.
The Charlotte Hornets will win their first round series against the Boston Celtics in the 2021 Playoffs

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
I think I’d trade #3 and #32 for Barrett and #8...I can’t imagine somehow ending up with Barrett and Okungwa...I know it’s not guaranteed he’d still be there at 8 tho...but talk about one hell of a draft night

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
I'm not even a huge Barrett fan, I'm skeptical he will ever be more than a volume scorer on middling efficiency, but Barret+Robinson+8 would be an insane haul for 3+32.
Robinson is exactly the sort of big we've been lacking, we can still probably get one of Halliburton/Hayes/Okongwu at 8 and then Barrett is a pure lotto ticket.
It's hard to believe the Knicks would pay such a steep price for Ball, but it's not exactly out of character for them.
PG: Graham/Rozier
SG: Barrett/Monk/Martin
SF: Miles/Martin/Martin
PF: PJ/Okongwu/McDaniels
C: Robinson/Zeller/Okongwu
That team would be loaded with potential.

We shake our collective heads at the idea of opposing fans suggesting we give up:
#3 + PJ + a future 1st
For
#1
This feels like the same, but in reverse. Seems like an absolute overpay for the Knicks.

100% with you. People get super defensive about Miles or Monk but will propose a robbery of another team and say fair value.

I am on no way defensive of trading Miles or Monk. I am on favor of using Miles in the right deal. However, my proposal was only in light to the rumored asking price for a too 3 pick. It's the Knicks, you never know

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
Moving from 8 to 3 is going to take more value than 3 to 1 (in this draft at least), but yeah, some of these trades people are proposing are robberies.
8 + 27 + Mitchell Robinson, is probably about as far as I could see the Knicks willing to go. Maybe a lightly protected future 1st or Barret in place of Robinson, but that still seems suspect to me. Maybe you get them to throw in a future 2nd in the Robinson package, idk.
I'm honestly not even sure Id rather take that package than just stay at 3 and select Okongwu, Wiseman, or Hayes. We wouldn't really need Okongwu/Wiseman if we got Mitchell Robinson, but I honestly doubt Hayes will be there at 8 and I'm just not that excited about the possibility of drafting Okoro or Haliburton (even though I do like both of them a decent amount). I guess it depends on how you feel about Robinson and I honestly don't know a whole lot about him, so I could be underrating him. Wiseman(if hes the real deal)/Okongwu/Hayes, seems a bit more exciting to me than Robinson + Haliburton.
The deal gets a lot more exciting if we are getting another top pick in 2021/2022 instead of Robinson, or if we could get Barrett and still draft Okongwu at 8, but neither of those scenarios seems likely to me.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
I am fine with trading miles for teacher pics or solidifying a player that we believed to be a Difference Maker
Clear his best position is small ball power forward where he will be stuck behind PJ for as long as PJ is on the roster.
At small forward I would rather get his minutes to the Martin Twins or see what we have with McDaniels. I think what the Martin twins bring adds more value to team success, and I think McDaniels has the potential to reach a higher ceiling.
Let's not repeat the mistakes of our past where we gave our mediocre lottery picks second contracts because we were scared to lose them for nothing in free agency.

Wasn't directed completely at you. More so the board in general when it comes to trades. It's worth checking out trade and transaction forum to get a sense of what other fans think.
For instance, Robinson + 8 for 3 is a trade every Knicks fan has said they would not do. Again I understand the fanbase is not the franchise but we should consider the value. If you were the Knicks would you make that same move? You certainly wouldn't add a future 1st, barrett, or even 27.
