Colby Jones. Impactful perimeter defender 42% c&s also averaged 4.5 assists. Complimentary backcourt piece whether the early pick is Scoot or Miller

You can never have enough passing, Colby Jones would be a great addition to the team.

Don't know a ton about this kid, but could he be a solid add at 27, or too soon?

Has the size, defensive mindset and 3-ball to play on the wing if we go Scoot at 2.

My four current wants at 27 barring no unexpected free falls would include Strawther: https://www.si.com/nba/draft/prospect-profiles/nba-draft-scouting-report-gonzagas-julian-strawther#gid=ci02aa6866f0012552&pid=usatsi_17727808

Also like Julian Phillips, Podz, and Cissoko in that spot. I think Phillips is going to be good - my sleeper pick.

4-star recruit out of NV. Not sure if UNCNYC likes him but I'm a fan.

Maybe his name is familiar because Strawther is a junior and has played prominent role for Gonzaga’s deep tournament runs the last several years.

If you watched the tourney this year Strawther hit the big shot that sent Zags over UCLA in Sweet 16

If Mitch gets Miller I'd seriously look at Bufkin as a trade-up target. Trouble's someone else has probably given him a promise already. Thanks for the tip, UNCNYC!

Mo Gueye would be a fun upside play.

Coulibaly apparently has lottery promise, so strike him off the board.
Bufkin is a lot of peoples draft darling, with seeing him top 10 in some far out mocks.

I doubt either makes it to 27 at this rate.

Strawther should be there for the pick IMO, he might even be a guy I try to wait until the 2nd round on as he is a Junior. Would rather take a swing on an underclassman at 27 still.

https://pacificnwsports.com/gonzaga-bulldogs-mock-draft-strawther-timme/

The talented junior has now become a serious potential weapon on the perimeter. Strawther ranked in the 92nd percentile on jump shots, the 93rd percentile on catch-and-shoot looks, and the 97th percentile on spot-ups.

I like Jordan Hawkins, Dariq Whitehead, Jett Howard, Julian Phillips, and Julian Strawther. I also like Brandon Podziemski, but hes barely over 8' standing reach, which might make it hard for him to get on the court here if they take Scoot at 2, unless the team is planning on moving off both DSJ and Rozier.

I think my ideal draft would be Scoot at 2, then one of the shooters + Phillips with the other picks. I would also trade Rozier for salary relief + picks and resign DSJ.

They think he's slow and soft and falls asleep on defense:

Strawther's shooting ability and size at the wing position fit the mold of a prototypical "3-and-D" forward in the modern NBA. However, his athleticism and effort on the defensive end of the floor sparked concern from one NBA executive.

"Strawther's frame and athleticism are unsatisfying. He's doughy, not strong enough," the NBA executive said to Gonzaga Nation. "Sometimes he's too nonchalant and undisciplined defensively. He's not super quick. He has a great wingspan, but doesn't use it enough."

Whitehead had a second surgery on his foot this week. Nothing major but I could see it being a concern.

I'd still take him at 27 if he drops.

I think I would pass on him tbh... multiple surgeries before he is 20 isn't great. He made 2/5 dunks this year he attempted, he is probably going to be cooked young.

My least favorite sport is waiting for our 1st round draft picks to be healthy / available to play

My favorite player to watch in college ball this season was Jaime Jaquez Jr. Agree with Jeremy Woo, who says:
I love what Jaquez brings to the table. Factoring in his age and role, he's not the type of prospect who typically gets slapped with the upside label this time of year, but Jaquez is a good bet to have a long NBA career as a guy who can play multiple roles. His versatility and toughness are difficult to replicate, and I'd argue there's a pretty strong chance he's one of the 25 best players in this draft class five years from now. -- Woo
