I've said for awhile now that I'd stay away from Kanter because he "seems" short to me, but hearing that he's no taller than Jones really scares me. You don't want a franchise Center being that short unless they're a freak athlete.

If he shows up at the combine and measures something like 6'8.5 without shoes, his stock could take a huge hit.

Agreed.

From what I saw, he looked like Al Horford - but without the explosion. Horf should be a PF WITH the explosion he has. The idea of playing a guy like Kanter at C WITHOUT the explosion would be a bad idea IMO.

Jordan is looking for a swag player...I bet we take Walker if he is there. We just better hope NOH misses the playoffs do we have a chance at a big at 14.

CP3 comes to mind...haha. Just saying. To keep this topic related, what would be better? A potential draft class of T Jones and T Honeycutt (or fill in your own) OR trading away at least one, if not both of the picks, DJ, and Diaw (maybe even more) for CP3? If our pick slips into number 8, or at least top 10, I would think that could entice the Hornets. We could offer that pick, our 2nd rounder, future first, DJ and Diaw for CP3. Would something like that be more beneficial to this team then just sticking with what we have and drafting the talent at those picks?

I would not give up that much for CP3. That is too much. Especially considering he is a FA after next year. He may not care who he is with and bolt for NY. Just giving up too much.

I really like the way Kemba Walker is looking. And although Jimmer's jump shot is off tonight, the guy finds a way to get to the rim so much and even in traffic gets the shot up and in. Leonard having a so-so night so far. He is gonna have to get hot if SDSU is to advance tonight.

LMAO, we're concerned about Kanter's length. I think he has all the intangibles, work ethic, toughness, physical build to make up for his "lack of length".

I'm not concerned about his lack of length. I'm concerned about his lack of height.

I'm very, very quickly falling in love with Kawhi Leonard. He has Gerald Wallace with a better offensive game written all over him. Identical size. Identical hair. Both average about 15/10. Plus, read this description:

A hybrid forward with terrific length... He has a high motor and plays the game with a lot of energy... An agile athlete, his strides are extremely long and he covers a lot of space when running the floor … He is fairly comfortable handling the ball in the open court and is capable of pushing it out off the rebound when the situation calls for it … Even with the improvements to his offensive game, he still continues to contribute heavily in the rebounding department … His huge hangs, length, energy and great timing, allow him to snatch balls on both ends that are well outside of his rebounding area … An extremely quick jumper, he is very good at tipping the ball and keeping it alive on the rim … Has the instincts and shows potential in becoming a very solid defender … His ability to get out in the passing lanes and also contest shots inside make him a very dangerous weapon on the defensive end

even his weaknesses are similar!

Does not have one aspect offensively that stands out or which allows him to consistently score the ball... His jumpshot (while definitely improved) is still very inconsistent … The release comes high off his head and it is somewhat of a sling motion, which results in a fairly flat shot that goes all over the place

He's only a sophomore and has shown improvement on the offensive end so I'm not that worried about that. For everyone that misses Crash, you need to watch some videos of this kid

Agreed. And again, if he was a little undersized but still thunder dunked I would be some what ok, but he just doesn't seem to play above the rim at all.

I'm very, very quickly falling in love with Kawhi Leonard.

I'm feeling you SWedd.

The kid has a GREAT body (sort of reminds me of Amare) with plenty of room to get stronger. His hands look massive. I didn't realize just how much he handled the ball either. His J has been off tonight, but he's looked to score in a variety of ways (post ups, slashing, J's etc) which was great see.

I'm liking him too.

Lets say we do draft Kemba, what type of pick do you think we could get for DJ? cuz it seems like Kemba plays like "aggressive" DJ constantly. Like do you guys think its a possiblity we could package DJ and our NOH pick to get say, the clippers pick via cleveland and draft a starting quality SF?

DJA and the Hornets pick for the Kings pick.

Given that the possibility is that the NO pick could be #14 in the Lottery, adding DJ to that pick might very well get you the Sac. pick. Picking #4-5 and #8-9 might very well get you both Kanter and Kemba. That would be a dream draft.

I side with those who think Kanter will be a very good pick. He's only 18 so has the possibility to grow a bit more in height. But he has a long wingspan and is really talented around the basket. He plays like a bigger 6' 10 than you give him credit.

He's strong, solid upper body strength with great hands and a soft touch. He's relentless, i think he has the right attributes and intangibles to succeed as a starting center in the NBA.

There are just too many things that work against a short Center. You either have to be a great athlete (Dwight) or a great defender (Horford) to be worth it. If Kanter can show he has some athleticism to rise up over bigger, tougher players OR if he shows he can bang down low and keep the other bigs off the boards, then go for it if he's there.

Still wouldn't be at the top of my list in that range though. He's behind Barnes, Jones, and Leonard

Good grief, how good is Kyrie? Kid is only a FR, misses 3 months, and plays with ice water in his veins in the Sweet 16. I like Kemba, but Kyrie is just going to be dynamite.
