I know Jerry Sloan could've gotten 25 wins out of this team. If you don't think so then you seriously underestimate how much coaching means in the NBA.

Gregg Popovich would've gotten this team to the playoffs. Not even joking.

I like Mike.

He was charged with developing the young players while not jeopardizing a high draft pick. He was annoyingly efficient at the latter.

I like Brian Winters too.

"I'm a teacher and I think Michael Jordan appreciated that. That's how I interviewed. I told him quite frankly it could be three to five years for me to fix this.

If somebody calls Phil Jackson he "will listen". I hope his ex pet player MJ makes that call.

I know it's a long shot but it would be truly shocking. You just wonder if the Time Warner folks want to kick up their branding a notch and draw some serious attention to the Bobcats/Hornets. It would certainly create a buzz. I really do feel like after this draft and next we will be competitive. Next year is the last year we will suck.

well, i feel like just through roster attrition the bobcats will be a 30 or so win team next year, barring injury. several thoroughly useless players' contracts will expire, and i imagine it will be in everyone's best interest for cho to fill their spots with at the least mildly useful players.

Dunlap: What do you see?

Dunlap talks about learning to better use timeouts. He talks about getting to know officials, and not overreacting to calls, trying to set an example so his players won’t.

“Third is, people can see in this last month that we’re passing the ball,” says Dunlap. “We’re more of a ‘we’ team.”

He specifically credits relative newcomers Josh McRoberts, a forward who came to the Bobcats in a trade 26 games ago, and point guard Jannero Pargo, who was signed 18 games ago.

“Also (with) five new players, new coach, new coaching staff, just the reps, just the sheer reps, I think, have helped us a lot,” Dunlap says.

What disappoints him?

“I want more wins,” Dunlap says, and adds: “I never thought that we were going to blink our eyes and have 35 wins. I thought it was always going to be a slog. We’re slowly moving this thing around and again, what’s perspective? The worst team in the history of the NBA (last season), all right, so how you go from seven wins to, say, 40 wins, that’s tough to do.

“So I’m proud of the fact of what’s going on in the last month … A style of play that there’s a verve that the team’s playing with that’s undeniable. And to have that with the heaviness of the losses (is) kind of my proudest moment and the coaching staff’s proudest moment.”

That worries me a bit. He said nothing wrong but it convinces me he is not told to tank and his queationable decisions are really his. Although he is su ch a good speaker he coiuld hide that and still sound genuine.

coaches develop too. he's basically admitting that he's improving as a coach and still has room to grow. he's never been an NBA HC before this, so of course it would be a change of pace

assuming he has a source within the organization, this would point to less than solid support for dunlap. one thing i will say is, please don't dump dunlap unless you've got a clear upgrade on his way to charlotte to sign a contract. dunlap has his flaws, but he has his virtues too. no need to be hasty when there's still growing to be done.

at the start of the season if you were told that Dunlap will get us 21 wins and that Kemba, Biz and even Mullens would show definite improvement.

Would you guys have been happy with that?
