This is also a little bit premature, 12 games into their rookie seasons. Everyone is thrilled that MKG is off to a great start, but we really don't know how good Robinson will end up being.

Only a little premature. Due to Robinson's size his potential for his position was rather limited to begin with. It would have looked more promising if he came into the NBA playing better than the kid who is a full three years younger than him.

I love MKG. Can't have enough guys on your team with his heart. Watched him in person a few times this year and I love the hustle. Fouls concern me a little, but I think he has a long career ahead of him!

12 games into a player's rookie season is always premature. I also think you're overstating the height problem, if guys like Boozer, Millsap, Landry, etc. can succeed in the NBA, so can Robinson. Will he be the next Blake Griffin or whatever? Probably not, but we're not going to know if he's a bust for at least two seasons.

I don't think anyone is calling him a bust. I know I am just saying that I admit to being wrong about TRob being the best player for the Cats. MKG is proving to be exactly what they needed. It is higly unlikely at this point that TRob would have affected the Cats with the positive impact that MKG has.

Lauer Sounds Off: MKG Making a Positive Impact

Through 14 Bobcats games, I guessed to myself that Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was the Bobcats rotation leader in this category… and I was right. He’s actually a dead-even +/- player, which has greater value considering that his teammates are south of that line. MKG is averaging over 11 points and six rebounds per game. He’s also getting over a block and a steal too. I simply like the fact that when he’s on the floor (he plays an average of half of a game’s worth of minutes), the Bobcats are right there with the opponent. His competitive, winning spirit is defined and pronounced in no better way than through this ultra important statistical lens. In last night’s loss in Atlanta for example, MKG was +6 – just one of two Bobcats with a positive line. When his minutes grow this season and more importantly, beyond, this stat will help reveal how much of a contributor he is to a winning team.

Expected but still really cool. Eastern Conference has seen a little weaker rookie-wise, I mean who's his competition? Waiters, Beal, Drummond? Heck I'd put Taylor's season up there with any of those guys.

EDIT: I did forget a couple holdovers from last year in Singler and Val, both have looked solid.

MKG is truly a special kid.

I love the guy. He seems so eager to learn and do well.

Watching Michael Jordan give Michael Kidd-Gilchrist some pointers at practice. Looks like they're talking moves to the rim in traffic.

Jordan now posting up MKG. Thinking Senator Kohl probably doesn't do that at Bucks practice.

Jordan just called a foul. He who has the gold makes the rules.

I think MKG would benefit from MJ's confidence in him like that. He seems to doubt himself, but respect the opinions of his coaches (and MJ obviously demands respect).

I like this article so much that I decided to post it again. Maybe some of you missed it the first time. We do have a new rook. What's up? Welcome to Chaos!

Young Kidd-gilchrist Reminds Us Of Someone

From Elias: Rookie forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist scored 25 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for the Bobcats as they defeated the Mavericks in overtime. Kidd-Gilchrist turned 19 less than two months ago. Only one NBA player ever reached those levels of points and rebounds in a game at a younger age: LeBron James did it in 2003 while he was still only 18 years old.

There are different levels of hurt. He may be able to practice without being healthy enough for the doctors to let him play.

Hope that jumpshot is coming along, teams are practically daring him to shoot now. He's gonna be a dangerous player the instant he has a respectable perimeter game.

According to NBA.com MKG joined LeBron as the only players to post two 25 point 12 rebound games before their 20th birthday.
