First we had that impostor doing a bad imitation of Vasa. Another one in a LaMelo jersey locking up Jimmy B.

I was very encouraged by Melo's defense this game, he had a ton of energy and really harassed his guy. He had several really good closeouts where you could tell he was leveraging his quickness and instincts to really bother shooters.

Really hope that continues.

I was impressed by his defense as well, he may not have added a ton of bulk but it seems like he’s getting a little grown man strength anyway on his drives and defense

Please stay healthy.

A healthy LaMelo we are relevant. He's a big deal in social media the kids love him. If he stays on the court there is no question he's a All-NBA caliber player. I personally think he's better than Haliburton and we see how much the media loves him.

Sky is the limit with a healthy LaMelo Ball

I feel like he hit the ground at least 15 times in that game. Scares the s*** out of me every time he goes up for a layup or leaves his feet in traffic. It's like watching Gerald Wallace all over again when every time Wallace did anything I thought he was about to get hurt.

When he got that beer dumped on him it looked at first like he was just hurt again. I agree that it adds to the roller coaster ride that is watching him to constantly be scared that he hurt himself and to be overanalyzing his movements constantly to see if something has started bothering him.

Anecdotally, I haven't seen him obsess over his wrist like we've seen a good bit the last couple years.

The thing about LaMelo's defense that stood out to me the most was that he was playing it smart and not even having to overexert himself. He was simply maintaining position/leverage and keeping his arms up to bother his man + did it without fouling. Really encouraging. He had a nice mix of 3's, a mid range or two and some drives + contact w/ fouls. If that were a regular season game, he'd likely have approached 30+ w/ a threat for a triple-double.

And it seems like we're all suffering from LaMelo injury PTSD because any time he took contact or went to the ground, I got nervous as well.

Great points everyone and thanks for your observations. I can’t see the games and search for extended highlights online. He does look every bit as good as he has offensively and much improved on D!
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

We have 2 potential superstars on our hands with Melo/Miller.

This doesn't happen very often for Charlotte. Shades of LJ/Mourning. We gotta take advantage of this young superstar talent.

Please Melo stay healthy!

Extremely encouraged by Melo's defense last night. He struck an appropriate balance of active without being too aggressive and picking up fouls. Boone got a good quote from Lee:

“It just shows the competitor that he is, the resilient person that he is,” Lee said. “I think all the injuries that he’s had to kind of go through, he has stayed consistent with his work ethic. I’m so happy that he was able to kind of showcase it. Because like I said, since I’ve gotten this job, since the first time we talked on the phone, he told me what he was going to be committed to.

“And he wants to be someone who earns the trust in his teammates and his coaches in terms of just coming into work every day, and wants to be a winner and wants to impact winning. And so I told him what I think is going to help us impact winning and I think that you saw (Wednesday), him implementing that with some of his defensive efforts, some of the multiple efforts that he made and then offensively playing with the pass and drive-in. And I’m just all-around excited for him again.”

Haliburton spent the summer enjoying being a celebrity for the first time, LaMelos been a celebrity for a decade now.

“More athletic DLo”

Between takes like this and the unfortunate return of tsherkin and his god awful hornets opinions delivered in the most condescending form possible idk man. My account might last 5 minutes talking to these morons if I ever get access again. Unfortunately this board is designed to treat its long time members like garbage whilst being overrun with blatant duplicate account vpn trolls organized in discord servers. Weird ****

Trolls like him don't have friends in the first place. Friends are required for collaboration on Discord.
