Jeff Peterson trading Terry to the Heat was an act of genius. And he got an unprotected pick for him!!! Can you imagine if he was still on the team? I love, love, love that he's on the Heat of all teams.

Just pray terry doesn’t say something like “yea I did while on the hornets, also so and so did” or something like that.

Pretty sure Jordan is above reproach at this point.

As I immediately go to look at that years roster as a refresher

Really bad. Wait a minute, if the NBA absolved him at the time, what is the FBI going on about now?

Sportsbooks in multiple states flagged suspicious betting interest on Rozier's statistics ahead of a Charlotte Hornets-New Orleans Pelicans game on March 23, 2023. An unexpected surge of bets -- including 30 wagers in 46 minutes from a professional bettor totaling $13,759 -- came in on the under on Rozier's points, rebounds and assists, causing sportsbooks to halt betting on the veteran guard. Rozier, then with the Hornets, played just 10 minutes before leaving the game, citing a foot injury.
Rozier's attorney, Jim Trusty, previously told ESPN that his client met with NBA and FBI officials multiple times in 2023. The NBA said it looked into the matter at the time and did not find that any league rules were broken.
Rozier, 31, is in the final season of a four-year, $96.3 million contract he signed with the Hornets in August 2021. The March 23, 2023, game was Rozier's last of the 2022-23 season with the Hornets, who traded him to the Heat in January 2024.

I mean the NBA also cleared the Clippers of any wrongdoing during the 2019 Kawhi Leonard signing initially. And they also cleared that aspiration patch deal. Maybe the NBA clearing something is just essentially sweeping it under the rugwilson115 wrote:Really bad. Wait a minute, if the NBA absolved him at the time, what is the FBI going on about now?

Sucks that Terry did this while he was with the hornets. I do hope this doesn't come out that there was more of this happening within the team. Terry miles melo and PJ were all pretty close.

Seems like he's just mentioning that bets were made on our team, which makes sense with the Rozier stuff.

Re: Around the NBA 13
Well... part of the alleged issue with Terry was that he was providing inside information about the roster such as who would be on the bench etc. I assume that's what they're talking about here when they mention Insider information about the hornets. It was coming from terry. That March game was just the most egregious act.JustBuzzin wrote:Liver_Pooty wrote:JustBuzzin wrote:Apparently we are involved in it as well smh.

It's not surprising that kash Patel arrested a coach from the dirty bombed-out war-torn Democratic s*** hole of a city in portland. But I am surprised he arrested a player from the Beautiful deep red state of florida. players in LA, New York City and Chicago better watch out.. Only half joking.

Will it affect the trade with the Heat? What happens if Riley says we screwed them over and the NBA knew it?
This is really two cases, the bigger one (more arrests) about rigged poker games doesn't involve rigging NBA games at all (the way I read it) and the one involving Terry just seems tacked on.

Re: Around the NBA 13
I think utah can be a competitive team if they want to be. When they're "healthy" they certainly do have quite a bit of offensive Talent on that roster. And Walker Kessler seems to have taken a pretty big leap, as have brice and filipowski. And they did all that with Ace scoring two points.yosemiteben wrote:Not sure what's more surprising, the Raptors crushing ATL or Utah crushing LAC. Weird night.
I will say the Clippers looked their age last night though. Old and slow. That's a team that is built to grind out a playoff series not run and gun on opening night at 5,000 ft.

I think if it comes out that the Hornets front office knew about this and didn't do anything we have much bigger problems to worry about than that first round pick.wilson115 wrote:fatlever wrote:I mean the NBA also cleared the Clippers of any wrongdoing during the 2019 Kawhi Leonard signing initially. It's a good thing that entire front office is gone.
