The young guy (not even 21) just finished his 2nd season and was one of the only players for us to show up in the playoffs. NO to trading MKG!

Amen

I want my new age 2000's Pistons:

Walker
Stephenson
MKG
Vonleh/Zeller
Jefferson/Biyombo

Some of my best basketball memories. I grew up in Michigan and sitting at the bar with a mountain of wings, two pitchers and the game on. Classic.

That's really cool. I love watching great defenses play, so obviously I was a huge fan of that team. I hated that the NBA changed the officiating to neuter their style of play. If we ever come close to replicating their suffocating defense we would be contenders. That team should have won more than 1 championship.

At least someone besides the Red Wings brings some sort of happiness to that desolate frozen wasteland.

Hopefully we are in contact with his agent as soon as the Jazz match GH's offer if we haven't been already.

Need to go ahead and contact in agent and tell him we will offer him 4 years 46 million if Utah matches out offer.

I'd offer 4 years 50 million with the last being a player option, we need to make sure we have their attention and make them willing to wait. We can't risk some other team coming in and stealing him while we wait for Utah to match.

I would offer 4/42 and go up to 46 but no higher. He is such a risky pickup I am even worried about any deal we offer.

if we don't get Hayward we really need to get Lance or have some trade up our butts we never considered for a wing.

If we offer a big deal the 4th year better be a team option. 4 years 52 million. Last years a team option. Overpay, but in this market its worth it.

I would offer him 4 / $65 just to get things started. You think he sees Hayward is worth the max and then is going to let us lowball him. He'd just take the Pacers offer.

My offer was more than the pacers per year and as a nut job he isn't worth the same as Hayward. If he had behaved like a normal human being and not screwed up that team he would be worth more.

The Pacers deal starts at 7.6m and averages at 8.8m.

Offer him 4/44 and see if he bites.

Is Stephenson's legitimate options down to the Pacers, Hornets, and Bulls?

I think you can add the Mavericks and Suns to that list.

The Mavericks offered a offer sheet to Chad Parsons. I'm uncertain if Houston will match it with the deal that they are offering Chris Bosh, but I haven't check the parameters yet. I think Phoenix is hamstrung by what they're going to do with Eric Bledsoe's free agency, whereas they refuted the trade talks with Indiana as a one-sided affair in fear of losing Stephenson for nothing

I've seen him linked to all of these teams.

Pacers
Miami (if no Lebron)
LA (if no Melo)
Chicago (if no Pau)
Dallas (if no Parsons)
Suns (who are they after?)
Boston
Charlotte

Needless to say, that's a lot of options.

It's been rumored that him & his agent aren't interested in going to a team that's not likely to make the playoffs, and that's why Boston & LA Lakers may be off the list. We'll see, but I'm currently thinking he's leaning back towards that Pacers offer from the activity I've been seeing with him in Indiana lately
