It's just nearly impossible to be efficient in the NBA if you aren't an uptempo offense

So why the hell did we not have him up with Coach Gillespie in Greensboro. If we don't trust the coaches in Greensboro, that we put there, then what the hell are we doing?

The thing is if he's playing in Greensboro we cant concentrate on whats most important which is improving his strength.

Also, he might develop bad habits, get salty, and he's not getting the film and mental reps he needs.

I think he's talented enough that he might be better off here. He's not a total project like Mangok or anything

Yeah but notice Toronto focuses on international guys who grew up with structure and actually know how to play.

People come out of AAU and most NCAA programs having no clue. Kentucky in particular does a pretty bad job of getting guys NBA ready as we've heard from many scouts/coaches around the NBA

Yeah to be fair to Cliff, Hernangomez for a 2nd round pick was already dicey. To give up two 2nd's for a guy who doesn't look at least somewhat enticing was an odd move for sure

Considering the young guys weren't "organized" enough to smell significant floor time last week, Willy had a long way to go before contributing in any meaningful way, and just giving young guys minutes to give them minutes wouldn't help anyone, there must have been one hell of a practice between last night's game and the previous one. What a joke.

I'm glad others are seeing how much Clifford just talks out of his ass. It doesn't matter how eloquently you state it, BS is still BS.

There is no way he isn't trying to get fired or having complications from his medications.

Definitely out of character for Cliff, it does seem like he's acting out a bit these days. He's always been a straight-shooter but very buttoned-up and not so forthcoming with opinion. Maybe the media is just asking him more, or it's been a busy week for questions, but it seems unusual.

I'm surprised he didn't just say "physicality" and the drop the mic and walk away.

Listened to the podcast. Cliff has a ton of history in this league. He is also interviewing for his next job IMHO.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I want Clifford to coach the Swarm so Damien Wilkins can log 40 mpg and average 50 ppg.

I wonder if we would be in the playoffs with that type of coaching

Speaking of coaches, Dave Joerger has basically run the Sacramento Kings like a rec team. Everybody gets to start a few games, everybody gets to play, the lineup changes night to night. That means that Bogdanovic, Fox, Hield, Justin Jackson, and Labissiere have all played over 50 games, and all average 20-29 minutes per game. They are fun to watch, too.

It's a radical way to develop a team, but I like it. With veterans like Randolph, Koufos, and Vince Carter on the squad, the rookies have direction, too.

If Steve Clifford is still the coach of the Charlotte Hornets at the end of June, I will find another team (or sport) to root for next year.

He should step down and save himself the continued embarrassment.
