Even if we were a playoff team I would want nothing to do with thuggy players.

They are over-paying him, but his skillset is definitely worth 11 million. Just watch, one of that young talented Kings bunch will develop into a player who was meaningful NBA moments. Not saying it's necessarily Evans, but it's worth the gamble, imo. The Pelicans are turning into a serious team.

My point is that is too much to pay him to come off of the bench, they already have Jrue Holiday and Eric Gordon.

My point is that is too much to pay him to come off of the bench, they already have Jrue Holiday and Eric Gordon.

I have four points I want to make then:

His destiny might just be being the third guard/first player off the bench who averages 15 points in 30 minutes for a playoffs team. Sometimes it's worth to overpay those guys, since they might benefit your team just as much as any starter (per example, Vinnie Johnson, Jason Terry).

It's only July the 4th. It's a bit too early to look at each team's rotations, there are still possible trades ahead. The Pelicans already have Vasquez behind Holiday, so it seems very plausible that they will shake up their back-court with a move or two. Two weeks from now it might be Tyreke's starting position with Gordon gone. (Don't forget about Rivers either.)

Moreover, we don't even know his real position yet. He might be a small three for all we know (wouldn't that be a scary line-up to defend...) Sac Town certainly didn't find out what position fits him best.

Last off, are we even sure Gordon can play a full NBA season?

Jrue didn't fit that well playing with slashers like Iggy and Turner in Philly, they're going to need another shooting wing.

Unless Gordon is fit and starting.

Big Al at 15 per? What do you guys think about that? I wouldnt do it if i were charlotte thats one fourth of the cap. And if we add him i think we will be out of the bottom 8 and lose our 2014 pick to chicago. Remember that some teams will be in serious tank mode. We could possibly miss out on this draft class everyone is raving about.
imo Most likely he signs with a team that misses out on dwight.

The Knicks FO somehow have convinced J.R. to stay for approximately 24.5 mil per 4 years. Props to them for pulling this off, since they were helluva tied up with salaries and could only offer this contract permitted by the early-Bird rights.

OJ Mayo would be a perfect fit for us.
