It's been that way since his second year in the league, honestly.

MKG was easily our most valuable player last year, when he played. He was just hurt a lot (four separate injuries). His play so far this year is nothing new, just damn refreshing. He's still the most valuable player on the team, as constructed. He single-handedly does two things 1) He takes our defense from decent/bad to good 2) Takes us from a solid rebounding team to a great rebounding team. He has the same impact as a great defensive center, yet he does it from the 3 spot. Only a handful of players in the league can impact a game as much on defense from the wing - MKG, Leonard, Tony Allen etc... And Allen doesn't also impact the rebounding like MKG and Leonard.

Thru 3 games MKG has an Ortg of 105 and a Drtg of 90. Yes, that is 90!!!! He has a +15 net rating.

In the 3 games since his return our team Drtg is 98, which would be 2nd in the league behind the Spurs' ridiculous 94 rating. Our net rating of 3 would put us in the top 10. We lead the league with a defensive rebounding % of 80. With MKG that number has been a staggering 85%. Even better our offensive rebounding % with MKG has gone from 20% (bottom 5) to 28% (top 5). Our overall rebounding % with MKG is 56% which would be top in the league.

Yeah, Yeah... tiny sample sizes, but a step in the right direction.

MKG has a Rodman-esque nose for the ball on rebounds. He's the best perimeter rebounder in the NBA. Leonard is the only other player that can compare.

Crazy enough, I'd put Russell Westbrook in that category.

MKG's PER36 numbers through three games: 15.8/11.8. He's 16-29 from the field, 2-3 from downtown, 9-16 from the FT line, and he's played All-NBA caliber defense in every second of the 98 minutes he's played through the three games. I expected some rust, and I expected his offense to regress this season after the surgery. I'm on cloud nine right now.

 Especially since the first game he was 100% from deep, the second game was against Kobe & Co and the third game was Linsanity.

He's special tho, I'm sure his teammates love him dearly. He just needs to learn to protect himself constantly; can't be too focused on the play.

OTOH, totally conceivable that we would have beaten the Blazers had Lin played.

It's between him and Kawhi imo.

MKG defends the perimeter and the post which makes him invaluable.

He could guard Curry, Thompson, Barnes/Iguodala or Green with ease and that is a scary proposition.

i thought MKG and the bigs played the Kyrie pnr really well last night, hedging and stopping penetration every single time. probably a coaching decision but well executed by the guys. scorers get the spotlight but the grind (defense and boards) gets the win.

He talks about how MKG knows everything that's going on. Wasn't he acting as a coach or something? That was a good idea.

BBIQ is the most underrated aspect of a players game.

MKG has it in spades.

I'd say he has a spade more hustle than he does BBIQ.

He's got more hustle than nearly any player I've ever seen.

This is a great gesture from MKG.

My heart goes out to this poor family, my youngest daughter is also battling cancer at this time and it's not easy!

Something like this can really make a difference more than anyone could understand.

Thanks I appreciate it a lot and as a religious man the prayers are wanted and much appreciated, I haven't talked about it on here and it is a fairly recent development.

I tried to change my username as it seems inappropriate at this point but HoMass said because I've had 2 warnings in the last year I can't!

Cheers for the well wishes.
