So far my bigs rotation has the most physically dominant player ever, two of the most athletically gifted big men ever, and a dinosaur. Let's add a bruiser who can gobble up some rebounds, block shots, and has no issue laying the wood on the opponent.

Some Haywood that is. :P

I'll fill my Like Gana category with the Bobcats' own Brendan Haywood, who had his best season in 2009-10, where he averaged 9 points (56.2%), 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game

Eddie Johnson 1984-85 = Chi Town

23ppg, 5rpg, 3.3apg, 1spg
49% from the floor
87% from the line

Johnson's career point total of 19,202 is also higher than all but 17 inductees into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

He is another that I cannot believe was still around. I change the year to 2003-04 also if that is legal because I just realized the initial year I had up he was with 2 different teams and it was only a 25 game sample on that year.

my last wing pick came down to Stackhouse and Posey.

I felt like I had enough perimeter defense and could go for the more dynamic player, but Posey fits in really nicely on a team that needed a bit more stopping power off the bench. Nice pick

The pride of DePaul, which is clearly in Chicago metropolitian era, Hot Rod Strickland, an actual all-NBA player this late in the draft, who woulda thought. We'll go with 97-98, where he averaged 17.8/10.5/5.3 and earned all-NBA 2nd team. An underrated defender and a playoff veteran, going to the playoffs 11 times with 6 different teams in his career.

G: Steve Nash (18.6 PPG, 11.6 APG, 53% FG, 45% 3PT, 90% FT)
G/F: Adrian Dantley (30.7 PPG, 6.4 RPG, 4.8 APG, 58% FG, 85% FT)
G/F: Scottie Pippen (22.0 PPG, 8.7 RPG, 5.6 APG, 2.9 SPG, 50% FG)
F: Charles Barkley (25.6 PPG, 12.2 RPG, 5.1 APG, 1.6 SPG, 52% FG)
C: Ming Yao (22.0 PPG, 10.8 RPG, 2.0 BPG, 50% FG, 85% FT, Really Tall)

Bench:
G: Reggie Miller (24.6 PPG, 3.8 APG, 3.6 RPG, 51% FG, 42% 3PT, 86% FT)
C: Arvydas Sabonis (16.0 PPG, 10.0 RPG, 3.0 APG, 49% FG, 80% FT)
F: Larry Johnson (22.0 PPG, 10.5 RPG, 4.3 APG, 52% FG, 77% FT)
G/F: Peja Stojakovic (24.2 PPG, 6.3 APG, 48% FG, 43% 3PT, 93% FT)
F: Shawn Marion (21.2 PPG, 9.5 RPG, 2.3 SPG, 45% FG, 85% FT)
G: Bobby Phills (14.3 PPG, 4.0 RPG, 3.5 APG, 40% 3PT)
G: Nick Van Exel (16.1 PPG, 9.0 APG, 3.9 RPG, 81% FT)
C: Joe Kleine (9.8 PPG, 7.1 RPG, 81% FT)
G: Rod Strickland (17.8 PPG, 10.5 APG, 5.3 RPG, 1.7 SPG)

Never mind. At first I thought you picked "Fast Eddie" Johnson, so I had to make some fun of him. The other Eddie Johnson was indeed a great guy to have on a playoffs team.

95/96 Steve Kerr with BROADCASTER
&
89/90 Craig Ehlo with DEEP SLEEPER------------------3rd round (1st pick, 48th overall), 1983 NBA Draft
14/5/5 and 41% 3P

Funny how I googled the broadcaster cat. and only found Sir Charles,McHale,Shaq and Kerr, and I thought he must be gone as this cat is so shallow, but somehow he became the LAST broadcaster pick of the draft. :D

I'm surprised Danny Ainge wasn't picked up for Broadcaster, I was very close to selecting him myself.

I don't think he was selected in last years draft either. He gets no love on this board.

Well there aren't many choices left for this category, if I am counting correctly, only 3-4 rotational players exist. I'll go with the most talented for practice fodder, as the others are just hustle players. 91-92 Nick Anderson, who isn't allowed to touch the ball in the playoffs.

Final Roster:

G: Steve Nash (18.6 PPG, 11.6 APG, 53% FG, 45% 3PT, 90% FT)
G: Reggie Miller (24.6 PPG, 3.8 APG, 3.6 RPG, 51% FG, 42% 3PT, 86% FT)
G/F: Scottie Pippen (22.0 PPG, 8.7 RPG, 5.6 APG, 2.9 SPG, 50% FG)
F: Charles Barkley (25.6 PPG, 12.2 RPG, 5.1 APG, 1.6 SPG, 52% FG)
C: Ming Yao (22.0 PPG, 10.8 RPG, 2.0 BPG, 50% FG, 85% FT, Really Tall)

Bench:
G/F: Adrian Dantley (30.7 PPG, 6.4 RPG, 4.8 APG, 58% FG, 85% FT)
C: Arvydas Sabonis (16.0 PPG, 10.0 RPG, 3.0 APG, 49% FG, 80% FT)
F: Larry Johnson (22.0 PPG, 10.5 RPG, 4.3 APG, 52% FG, 77% FT)
G/F: Peja Stojakovic (24.2 PPG, 6.3 APG, 48% FG, 43% 3PT, 93% FT)
F: Shawn Marion (21.2 PPG, 9.5 RPG, 2.3 SPG, 45% FG, 85% FT)
G: Bobby Phills (14.3 PPG, 4.0 RPG, 3.5 APG, 40% 3PT)
G: Nick Van Exel (16.1 PPG, 9.0 APG, 3.9 RPG, 81% FT)
C: Joe Kleine (9.8 PPG, 7.1 RPG, 81% FT)
G: Rod Strickland (17.8 PPG, 10.5 APG, 5.3 RPG, 1.7 SPG)
F: Nick Anderson (19.9 PPG, 6.4 RPG, 2.7 APG)

Nash (35) / van Exel (8) / Strickland (5)
Miller (22) / Dantley (22) / Stojakovic (4)
Pippen (38) / Stojakovic (8) / Marion (2)
Barkley (30) / Johnson (10) / Marion (8)
Ming (22) / Sabonis (22) / Johnson (4)
Inactives: Phills, Kleine, Anderson

Strengths: Fundamentals, Free Throw shooting (especially at center), 3 Point Shooting, Very Tall at center, Ball Movement

Weaknesses: Shot blocking, Bench defense, not enough minutes in NBA game

Pippen is the ultimate glue guy, the team's best player and I want him in the game as much as possible. He can make up for whatever scoring guard is next to him's/Nash's defensive inefficiencies and can handle the ball and make that extra pass to any of the offensive juggernauts on the floor for easy buckets. Barkley was absolutely unstoppable in 93 and I imagine any PF in this fantasy league would have a difficult time slowing him down. Pre Injury LJ was bascially another Charles in the making as well and a great energy guy off the bench.

People may view the center position as the weakness of the team, but I am thrilled considering I drafted 9th and automatically missed out on the best center prospects. I drafted disregarding injuries or career longevity and focused solely on if these players were in their prime for one season. Yao Ming at 7' 5" and Arvydas Sabonis at 7' 3" are very fundamentally solid and fluid players for their height, and both underrated defenders that couldn't be bullied in the post. They aren't elite shotblockers, but their massive size makes up for that. And you can't hack them, because they are elite FT shooters. Both players have shooting range as well and Sabonis is a gifted passer.

As for the SG position, Reggie will always be in the game at crunch time, and it really doesn't matter who starts. Dantley is a player that is difficult for opposing guards to handle so sticking him in with Pippen, Stojakovic creates lots of mismatches. I imagine Dantley would be the first sub into the game if he doesn't start, with Reggie coming back in with 10 minutes left in the 4th quarter.

Overall, I am happy considering where I drafted, and I think I have an interesting team that would be fun to watch offensively in a high tempo SSOL offense. I'm proud that almost all of the rotation is great at shooting free throws and if I am down in the game, a lineup of Nash/Miller/Pippen/Stojakovic/Barkley can score a lot of points quickly.

I hope that I'm not spilling the beans, but since everybody has had a pick through the Broadcaster category I guess it's okay.

Good players still available from the Broadcaster category according to my Excel document:

Michael Cage, Rick Mahorn, Clark Kellogg, Mychal Thompson, Reggie Theus, Sean Elliott, Albert King, Rex Chapman, David Wesley, Norm Nixon, Danny Ainge, Kelly Tripucka, Quinn Buckner, Greg Anthony, Muggsy Bogues and. John Paxson

i'm glad you beat me to it lamar. i think people really underestimated the broadcaster category. just from former charlotte players alone you had dell curry, david wesley, rex chapman, brevin knight, kelly tripucka and muggsy bogues.

billy dee theus, thats another great one. mahorn would have been perfect for the end of any bench as well.

i am also extremely disappointed that nobody selected my boy fat lever. i purposely left him on the board to see if anyone would take him. who wouldnt want a pg or sg who had 46 triple doubles, can defend both positions, was a multi all-star, multi all defense and 2nd team all NBA.

1988-89
19.8ppg
9.3rpg
7.9apg
2.7spg

or

1986-87
18.9ppg
8.9rpg
8.0apg
2.5spg
2nd Team NBA

coolio, i am glad to see you moved reggie back into your starting lineup. i think he is a much better fit for your starters than dantley.

****, I actually assumed that Lever was already picked so I didn't even bother to check the first page. Would have preferred him over Harper.

oh well, lets take the final pick, 96-97 Will Perdue. decent rebounder, good defender. Don't need him for anything else anyway
