I've thought that for a long time.

i might be a little insane.

I still doubt that he'll be better than Jabari Parker, but I can easily see him being at least neck & neck or the 2nd best player from this draft class. All Randle need is to develop that jump shot and he'll be a star, 'no if's, and's, or but's about it'

As much as I love Zeller, people who compare Randle to him are kidding themselves.

Randle is freaking tough and loves to bully the paint, he'll need to adjust with his lack of ideal size but the guy is built like a tank and is a better athlete than given credit for.

His offensive touch is something I believe only certain players are born with.

Randle soured on me throughout the collegiate year, but when it came tourney time I started to see why I considered him as good as Parker & Wiggins from the onset; a relentless motor, brute strength, basketball IQ, soft touch around the rim, and excellent agility for his size & position. I believe Randle's defensive prowess is also underrated, because he does a good job of staying in front of his man and he does a good job of challenging shots despite his slight lack of length. At first I thought Randle was a lackluster defender like Blake Griffin, but he's solid at the least

Excellent post.

McBob/Randle/Zeller
Jefferson/Biyombo/Zeller

Would be an awesome FC rotation, McBob and Jefferson would be perfect mentors for Randle.

I'm all for certain that Randle would take McRoberts' starting job by or at least will be splitting identical minutes coming out of the All-Star break if Charlotte drafted him. McRoberts' would be the perfect mentor to Randle as a left handed big that uses his agility

I think McBob if re-signed next season will start but only play 20-24mpg at most.

Randle would start by the end of the season.

I think McBob may be Session'd by deadline of whatever year he expires.

Found this excerpt on McRoberts in a free agent ranking and thought it was pretty funny.

29. Josh McRoberts, F, Charlotte Hornets

Strengths: Gives everything he has on every single play. Unbelievable athlete who can provide monster, game-changing plays in the form of dunks and blocks. Strong, explosive, and surprisingly skilled. Mean-ass beard. Not afraid to provide a hard foul. Stellar passer, particularly out of the pinch post. Improved hands and three-point shooting.

Weaknesses: Not a great scorer or a guy who can create on his own. Not exceptional in any one area. He's not a scorer, playmaker, shooter, rebounder, defender, anything. He just does a lot of different things. Lacks lateral quickness defensively to defend stretch fours. Can play wild and out of control at times given the amount of effort he brings. Struggles to pace himself. Food gets stuck in his beard.

Analysis: McBob (don't call him that) was fantastic for Charlotte last season, a real reason it made the playoffs. It's not that he dominated games or put in great production. He just helped them win in several areas. He should be a priority to re-sign for the Hornets, but if not, a contender could really use him. Miami, in particular, should see if he'll take a pay cut.

@JaredZwerling
A sleeper free agent for many teams: Josh McRoberts, likely in $4-$6 mil range. Clifford raved about him: a multiple-effort big & can shoot.

Hearing the Hornets' intent is to re-sign Josh McRoberts, but he's definitely fielding interest from around the league.

4-6 sounds about where we thought he would be. If he starts getting up into 6.5+ range however....

I have a bad feeling about McRoberts chances of returning to Charlotte.

we're definitely going to lose a valuable part of this team if he's gone. And I think it's going to surprise a lot of people how big the negative impact will be

if McRoberts walks then the Hornets will need to fill a void of passing vision in the starting lineup as well as somebody to play PF. that is the scenario when Lance Stephenson makes the most sense IMO.

Worst case scenario is that he leaves and gets paid, he deserves it, and, with the scrubs being paid big dollars this offseason, he's sure to make bank at this point.

All the best to him, and, what a move by Rich Cho, Hakim Warrick for a guy that became a starter on a playoff piece is amazing value.

I am fine with starting the season with Zeller as the starter at the 4 as long as we get Lance.

I would not sign him for more than 3 years. I always felt 3 years is the max length a contract should be. MAYBE 4 but NEVER 5.
