Cho hasn't orchestrated a blockbuster trade yet, so I wouldn't say "trading has not been great for us lately". All of the trades sans 2012 draft day under Cho's watch have been parallel, under-the-radar, low risk type of deals. I think Cho still deserves a loud round of applause for the McRoberts trade to this day

If they mean they are going to move Neal for another bench guy and hope he pans out great. But the last time we tried to make a move with a player we valued at all we got Neal and it was not a great deal.

It wasn't a great deal, but it served it's purpose. Neal & Ridnour combined for more 3-point makes in half a season than Sessions & Adrien did in a full season. I still wouldn't have pulled the trigger on that deal, but Cho & Higgins vividly stated that it was for 'spacing', and that 'spacing' allowed Al Jefferson to thrive and win Eastern Conference Player of the Month 2x

The Sessions Neal trade may not have been the best deal, but it wasn't anything catastrophic by any means

Yeah I agree, it most certainly wasn't the reason we got killed by Miami.

Sessions and/or Adrien will be back regardless imo.

Higgins said "it's hard to find superstars in free agency" but added the trade option is something the Bobcats could explore.

However, when was asked if he could see the Bobcats adding a player of Jefferson's caliber this offseason he responded, "Of course."

Added Higgins: "We will identify some free agents and we will talk about it. But of course we will go down that route if need be."

I'm still so confused. WTF is Higgins still here? Why did we hire Cho? Who's in charge? Why can't Higgins just go away??????

If that is true we are so screwed because Higgins is useless.

Can we at least wait until after this off-season before deeming Cho to be worthless or a puppet?

Now is the time that a GM proves his value. We have assets, momentum and a clear direction for the franchise. Let's see what we can do with it.

Just wondering what people think about these free agents:

Eric Bledsoe

Spencer Hawes

Marcin Gortat

Boris Diaw (!)

I think Higgins is just a watch dog for Jordan to make sure Cho isn't trying to sabotage him. Jordan has a lot of peers around the league that want to see him fail, and most of them are former players that couldn't beat him on the floor, so maybe they can conspire to do so corporately. I think it's difficult for him to fully relinquish duties without having somebody that he trust in position of power, and that's why Higgins will always be in the picture. I believe Cho still make the decisions even if Jordan disagree as far as draft picks & adding free agents to the cap space as evidenced by the 'Zeller debacle'

Bledsoe would be redundant with Kemba in the picture

I like Hawes but he would put a end to the Biyombo project since I don't see Clifford being flexible enough with his rotations to dare consider either as a PF alongside Jefferson

Gortat would be too expensive for a reserve center behind Jefferson's 30+ minutes per game

Diaw is more likely to retire than return to Charlotte

Has anyone seen the Rockets cap situation? They have to be willing to unload some of their players to get under next seasons cap. Asik and Lin will make nearly 30 million combined next season. Thats what Morey gets for front loading their contracts.

Edit - Then again they have two really solid players in Parsons and Beverley that dont even make a million. Must be nice.

payroll in 2014-2015 will be $63,707,723 which is 13th in NBA with no FA signings or rookies

I see nearly 72 million.

I didn't do the math to see if they included Scolas amnesty, which I would assume they didn't.

I got that number from Basketball-Reference so it probably counted the amnesty...either way they are over cap

I've stated that since Day 1 that Morey will regret those contract signings unless another team would be dumb enough to relieve them from him as expirings

As far as Parsons, they'll have to dig deeper into their pockets to pay him well into the luxury tax with a extension. Their roster considering the cap situation was built to be championship or bust. As of right now, I'd consider it a bust

Asik and Lin expire after next season though, and that is nearly 30 million in room. They will pick up Parsons team option for next year, unfortunately or I would be dying to trade for him. They will use that 30 million to give him a 4/40 deal, and probably upgrade their roster altogether. Isn't like Asik really does them any good.

Personally, I bet the reason why we see Higgins' name pop up more than Cho's is b/c listening to Cho is like listening to bumblebee sleep. Journalists probably hit up HIggins for blurbs so they aren't bored to death by Cho.

The way how their cap space is set up, they better be absolutely sure that Parsons is the 3rd fiddle to Harden & Howard before they offer him that extension, or else...

The way Parsons has played this post season id be more concerned about Harden than him.

Now you want to talk about someone that doesn't play D, damn, Harden plays defense like my grandmother screws.
