Package a roster player with it for a good offer or keep it if you really like a player at 24, like Shabazz.

TJ Warren
PJ Hairston
Shabazz Napier

Then sign your difference maker, Lance Stephenson.

That would be a good scenario but I think PHX will ask for 24 with 9 just to get both 14 and 18, and maybe a future second rounder.

24 + 9 = 33
14 + 18 = 32

Quantities are approximately even but the 9 selection offers the higher upside player. The Suns would have to pay a premium to me for quality for that 9 selection. I would include pick 45 as my final sweetener. And I would still package Neal + 24 to move up to 21.

I'd walk out with TJ Warren + PJ Hairston + Shabazz or Kyle Anderson.

Then I'd sign my difference maker, Lance, Bosh or Lebron. I think Lance is the most realistic. I might take on Ilysova for Henderson

PG-Kemba Walker/Shabazz Napier
SG-Lance Stephenson/PJ Hairston
SF-Michael Kidd-Gilchrist/TJ Warren
PF-Ersan Ilysova/Cody Zeller
C-Al Jefferson/Bismack Biyombo

Kemba/Napier
Lance/CDR
MKG/McDermott
Ilyasova/McBob/Zeller
Al/Biz

Looks so much better.

14 and 18 for 9 alone probably has merits if one of the guys we want at #9 is still there at #14.

Kevin Pelton's SCHOENE Similarity Score Projection

Nik Stauskas, Michigan

Allen Crabbe (96.5), Doron Lamb (94.9), Tim Hardaway Jr. (94.4), Ben McLemore (93.9)

Of players with better than 90 similarity to Stauskas, Daniel Gibson (91.6) has had the best career.

Nik Stauskas can be 5 or 6x NBA All-Star

Now I see why you're so magnetically attracted to Stauskas. Pelton's calculated system compared his possible projection in the NBA to Ben McLemore & Tim Hardaway Jr., two players that you really like more than most

1)Stauskas will make his teammates better
2)Stauskas will hit from range
3)Stauskas knows what to do with the ball in his hands

He's going to stick big time in the NBA

Sometimes with snipers you can run them off the 3 pt line but you can't do that to a guy who has been tested as a point man and knows what to do with the ball in his hands and has above average BBIQ and above average court vision. Those are traits you just don't look for in shooting guards because you don't realistically expect it. When you see those traits it's usually a smaller guy and you want him as a combo guard. But a SG with NBA size for SG who has those traits is something teams should really covet.

To me there is perfect (crazy trade up deal that gets us Parker), desired (trade up to 5 to get Vonleh), and best case scenario at 9 (draft Stauskas). I think he represents the best fit to both need and value. Also I think he is a player that will be able to improve his liabilities on defense. He has the physical tools to get better. He already has a pure shot, can dribble drive and dish. He will make his team better.

My concern is that Cho is locked into Harris or Payton. While there is no sure star at 9, I don't want a project guy that has to learn how to shoot & score. We have too many projects. Hyphen is working hard to get better, but there is NO guarantee he can get his shot to a dependable level in games. Kemba is a lot of good but he's a chucker.

I want to sign Lance in FA, but no guarantees we can pull that off. Unless Smart or Randle falls, I want Nik.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

All of the current projects didn't know how to "shoot & score", but they could play defense. Wouldn't it be wonderful if Cho drafted a project that was the vice versa, whereas he can "shoot & score", but defense was his weakness? I guess Stauskas fall into that category, even though that wasn't my case to make, but since this is his thread, I'll leave it as that

Stauskus can stop on a dime and shoot. But his actual handles are way overrated. Way. He will not be able to create his own shot in the NBA other than catching the defender sleeping

Wait until they put Paul George on him then. Will you call PG lucky if he block it and take it down the court for a breakaway dunk?

I love Steph Curry but similarly to how Curry be getting ripped and turning the ball over against pressure that will be Stauskas to a worst degree when the Tony Allens and Paul Georges get on him.

That garbage defender almost blocked it. If Cho really wanted to evaluate these players he would let them go on 1 on 1 drills against MKG and see how they fair. But I'm sure he didn't even think about that

MKG would pick up two quick fouls and be promptly benched by Clifford for the rest of the workout.

Stauskas would try to shoot over him from range.
McDermott would try to post him some and use fineness.
Harris would pee himself when he realized how big an NBA defender actually is.
