I think Kaminksy would be the 5 on defense, Zeller the 5 on offense

In all honesty a future lineup of Kemba-Batum-MKG-Zeller-Kaminsky could be VERY good.

I think Zeller is gonna go back to his natural position which will be center. Zeller was never a stretch 4 in college, I've never seen that in his game. He said in the pre draft that he could or would play it if needed, but the guy is a center, he's 7ft tall, he jumps out the gym, he's got a strong physique, we should have been had Ewing teaching this guy how to play inside. That's another knock on our developmental team for forcing Cody to play a role he isn't suited for. Also, Frank didnt seem very strong inside against the college players, Cody did. Cody is a better rebounder, more athletic, stronger and probably a stronger finisher inside, putting him in his natural position should only help him.

I agree with most of this but Cody is in no way, shape or form a stronger finisher inside than Frank. He wasn't in college, he isn't now and he never will be. He gets knocked on his ass repeatedly and had to lead the league in falling down last season. He can play some D, but he gets his shots packed and falls on his ass most of the time he tries to go up strong. And in the rare cases he doesn't get posterized by a defender, the shot doesn't fall. Cody has strengths, but that isn't one of them.

That's the funny thing about Cody, he isnt a twig, the guy actually has a strong looking frame, but he has tendency to be soft! He also shows tenacity, toughness and hustle which you don't usually see in soft players.

Cody will dunk in traffic and on you, get offensive rebounds and I think when aggressive he's harder to defend inside on a physical level where again, he could just go up and dunk on you easier than Frank who I think will be relegated to pick and pops with occasional post ups cause he isnt physically as gifted or athletically.

I think Cody playing a stretch four MAY have made him play more finesse, this is why I said Ewing should show him how to play inside cause physically he's got the tools to be a good center, we just let Cliff try to make him a Ryan Anderson clone when he should be emulating Tom Chambers imo.

Maybe I'll be painfully wrong but I think Frank is more physically gifted to play the post than Cody.

I'm not sure either have the lower body strength to back centers down consistently (small ball lineups complicate this since guys like Draymond Green have a lower center of gravity) but Kaminsky has significantly much better post moves than Zeller. Even if he can't back guys down at the next level, his shooting ability will help keep defenders honest. I think Kaminsky is better suited for the 4 though on offense since he's a little hesitant to shoot over people without good separation.

I'm not sure how well Zeller and Kaminsky will coexist other than Zeller would defend the better offensive big on defense and Kaminsky would run most of the p&r with Kemba while Zeller buggers off and waits to crash the glass or something.

In years past we'd wait until the FA moratorium passed before signing the rooks because we had cap space, and rookies will usually (almost always) sign for 120% of their cap hold. Waiting a couple extra days allowed us to save that extra 20% for any prospective free agents.

But being over the cap, there's basically no incentive to wait because there aren't any savings. It also means that we aren't anticipating a big salary dump (Al/Marvin/Hawes) to get back under the cap.

maybe if Cho gets canned, we get a do-over in the draft?

Didnt really have the chance to chime in on the draft pick Frank so ill do that now. I think it was a great choice. We were the best when we had Mcroberts on the team because of his high IQ and Frank will more than fill that void. High IQ guy who can stretch the floor and make plays for his teammates. THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT WE NEED. Winslow is the second coming of MKG why in the world would we draft a guy who we basically already have. I cant stand to hear people whining about not getting Winslow. I would not be surprised to see a Cody Zeller trade around the corner as well.

Trading Zeller is ridiculous. God forbid we gave solid depth at a position

People are way too eager to get rid of the decent players we already have.

I'm really intrigued by the Goodman, Frank little twitter ordeal.

Me too. Strikes me as totally bizarre. What is the deal with Goodman outright insulting Frank? I hope they are pals or something.

Frank on display at summer league, warts and all. not a lot of surprises. I will say there's an ocean of difference between he and Vonleh as far as getting the most out of summer league. his general awareness allows the offense to function so much better, which probably gives a better look at other players. the ball does not stick in his hands by any stretch. all the worries are present, though. weak in the post right now. general suckage on defense. if he's not hitting shots, he'll be a drag on the game pretty quickly. but his stroke looks nice. he gets a shooter's swish. not many Charlotte players have had that lately.
