Forbes has us listed at #26 in the annual franchise value rankings @ 750 million. We are only ahead of Pelicans, Bucks, 76ers and Twolves - just behind Grizzlies, Hawks, Pacers, Pistons, Nuggets.

What did MJ pay?

Wasn't it something like $300 mill?

This name change didn't do as much as a lot of people thought it would. Attendance is still meh. I'm sure we're moving way more merchandise though

Wow, it's hack an Andre night. Drummond might get 40+ ft attempts tonight. With all this practice how can he not get better? They need to fix that rule, it's just stupid and makes the game less fun to watch.

^highly, respectfully disagree.

Guys can either learn how to shoot un-terribly at free throws or coaches can take them out for players that can.

Merch sales are definitely up, classic and current designs. I think it really hurt that the first two seasons after the rebrand have been very mediocre. Obviously this year isn't finished yet, so it could improve, but I'm sure a lot of folks aren't psyched to pony up the significant investment it takes to bring the family to an NBA game just to see a 30-35 win squad with no well-known players.

Whenever friends or family back home go to a game they usually shoot me a message about it and send a few pictures since they know I'm a fan living too far away to go in person. Their stories are always some variation of "I went to the game against the Cavs so I could see Lebron", "Went to the Warriors game to see Curry go nuts", "Went to see the Lakers for Kobe's last game", "Went to see the Mavs because Dirk" etc. Seems to still be more interest in the marquee names from other teams than our own guys, which has to be tough for the marketing people to deal with when trying to boost ticket sales.

http://hoopshype.com/team/charlotte-hornets/

Parker, more than anyone, saw the root of Diaw’s troubles in Charlotte. “Boris is the type of player, he needs a team around him that’s unselfish,” Parker said. “You put him on a team where there is too much freelancing, Boris isn’t going to be as good.” The Spurs were sold, especially at the discount that accompanied Diaw as damaged goods.

Weighing their options, Popovich and general manager R.C. Buford sat down with point guard Tony Parker, who had known Diaw since they were teenagers in Paris, and picked his brain. Parker’s response: “We have to do it. He’s a perfect fit. Charlotte was saying stuff about him, and I was like, ‘Are you serious?’” Parker said. “I’ve played with him on the (French) national team. There’s no way Boris is like that.”

Just because 5 players or so in the league can't shoot free throws doesn't mean you change a rule.

No they don't. Andre Drummond should learn how to shoot free throws.

Western Conference Starters:
• Kobe Bryant
• Kevin Durant
• Kawhi Leonard
• Stephen Curry
• Russell Westbrook

East hasn't come up yet. Of course, Draymond is the big snub. However, he was second runner up...behind Zaza Pachulia.

mad props to all the Raptor fans who made the late push to get Kyrie out of the All-Star game.

I can't believe Pachulia almost got in the starting lineup. He's probably as deserving as any center in the West, but never thought he'd have the fan power.

Kyrie getting ousted by Lowry gives Kemba a better chance of being a coach's selection.

I think Wall and Butler are locks as the main backups at the guard spots. That fifth guard spot is pretty much a toss up between Thomas, Jackson, and Kemba. All three are perfectly justifiable selections. I have to say I'd much rather have Kemba over the other two- not even a second thought- and I'd be pretty disappointed that he didn't get it.

I have a feeling IT will get the final guard spot.

Lowry, Wade, DD, Butler, Wall...might be IT... the league will balance the act, give it to a Celtic since Detroit will have Drummond....
Kemba and Nic lost their chances due to the team's slump, in Batum's case, also his personal slump

surprised that Zaza and Kanter got a lot votes this year, granted they played well... and Zaza has more vote than Dirk? how can that happen, it baffles me

I sorta wanted Zaza to make it in. If someone as ridiculous as Kobe is getting the demarcation I like the idea of Zaza getting it as well.

that's the power of otherwise unimportant European countries who don't have much else going on.

moreover, Zaza has been tearing up Twitter this season with back-and-forths with Dirk. I bet that he won over Dallas fans and the NBA internet community, the reddits of the world, for some "what the heck, it will be great" votes.
