Lin playing <24 min/game = I want a League Pass refund. I was cheated out of $$$?
Lin playing >26 min/game = Yay, what a great investment I made to watch Lin?

2-3 minutes a game is what creates happiness?

I feel like Lin jumping to 5 different teams in 6 years has robbed his fanbase of ever actually becoming real fans of an NBA team and now he just has 2 million free agents jumping from team to team, whose only joy in life as it relates to basketball is when Lin plays well or plays huge minutes to justify the internal narrative they have created in their minds.

And if he leaves this summer it will be 6 teams in 7 years, another jersey to buy, another forum to join, another fanbase that doesn't understand you, rehashing of the same arguments with a new set of people on the Internet, and the possibility of more failed expectations.

And if team number 6 doesn't recreate Linsanity, then hopefully he can move on to team number 7 sooner than later.

Yet, every time I see him on the court on on the bench, he looks genuinely happy and every interview he has given so far he seems thrilled to be here.

Does he just have the greatest poker face in the league? Is he a liar? Or perhaps what makes Lin happy is not the same thing as what makes his fans happy?

Which is it?

Easy , once he starts quote bible verses in his twitter, it means that he is going through turmoil.

Turmoil that is no doubt related to minutes?

Is it not possible that he might occasionally quote a bible verse for no other reason than, you know, him liking the bible?

Some blatant trolling going on in this thread.

Or God I hope that's what it is.

Wait, why is there a youtube channel called Conservative New Media that seems to deal primarily in Jeremy Lin focused game reviews? What in the hell is going on...

bws94 wrote:I have a different question for the regulars. Are some of you disappointed up to now in Lin's play? Because, I'm thinking if I followed Charlotte, Lin sure played a lot of strong games against you. In some, he was the best player. Whether starting or off the bench, he was a factor in most. It seems like Lin should be a dangerous weapon however he's used. But, for some reason, he either trips over himself sometimes or disappears. I think he's excelling, for the most part, on the defensive end. But offensively, what do you guys think? Is he underperforming based on what you've seen him do against your team?

He's weaker on offense and stronger on defense. I also like him better as a shooting guard than a point guard. I was aware of his facilitating prowess (or lack thereof) before he joined Charlotte so that's exactly what I expected. What's bizarre is some fans assume I don't have a T.V. or access to information, as if I need to be told "how he was before." That's the exhausting part.

He's not a good enough PG to make the necessary roster/rotation accommodations to be central to a team's long-term plans. At 27 with significant ball skill restrictions (glaringly security and passing), any team naming him the starter would be actively planning his replacement. BTW I say this as someone who thought he could've started this year. In that way he's like Al, who I wouldn't accommodate either. I think earnest fans confuse "inconsistent" with "not above average" when they want to believe otherwise, to the extent of blaming coaches, teammates, circumstances, and the lunar eclipse for his performance.

With that said I could care less about his shooting percentages - I have no idea what any player shoots throughout a game. Lin is a good shooter across almost every category - off the dribble, C&S, corners, above the break etc...His shot will be fine just keep shooting. He's a very good downhill attacker when surrounded by the right personnel, albeit one with blinders on. I like his strength on defense and the ability to defend at least 1.5 positions above average. Backup combo guards can be valuable and have long careers because they solve 2 roster problems at once. Sometimes that's more important than starting or getting X minutes.

In context he's a 5-7th man on any team in the best basketball league. Being a top 200 human talent in a world with 7 billion people is spectacularly amazing.

You don't really expect me to watch a 40 minute video breaking down Jeremy Lin's performance in a game do you? Was there something specific in there you wanted me to watch?

I'm not sure I could listen to a 40 min podcast about my life, let alone anyone else on the planet.

From the leading notes it seems this fella is telling Lin fans to relax, or at least I hope that is what he is saying.

Holy ****, buddy, speed up. He talks so damn slow. I bet this could be a 20 minutes podcast if he didn't talk so slow. Lets go, lets go. I've got dividends to check.

Spending my Monday evening listening to something called Conservative New Media with a damn 40 minute ordeal about Lin concerning just one game.

I am one pathetic loser.

I already love this guy, minus the fact he talks slower than an insurance salesman at a nursing home. He's basically telling Lin fans to chill the **** out and appreciate what Lin is doing, w/out obsessing over the box score and minutes. Bravo fella.

if any Lin fan who think PFV's (self titled "your NBA expert") dissection of Lin's games or his teams' games is deep or balanced, then you probably really don't have depth understanding NBA and basketball
PFV is a good dude though ;-)
