Dude hasnt played in an NBA game in forever and immediately came out in the best shape of anyone on the team. Can talk about his personal antics all you want and I'll probably agree with you, but his work ethic is wild.

he's an absolutely freakish athlete and still hasn't missed a single game due to injury in his NBA career- missed a few to COVID, and a couple DNP-CDs as a rookie, and then 92 games with his suspension, but zero injuries. I didn't expect a lot of rust. Hate his guts but his availability is pretty critical to our team's success.

Dudes averaging 21 8 and 3 and honestly as someone else on here said he still looks a little hefty (amazing shape, but not ripped like he was). It's absurd.

I noticed that as well. He had a few chances to get his signature poster, but he doesn't seem to have the same lift he did before.

I guess he has to get back into game shape.

yeah just from yesterday's highlights (I didn't see the game) and the previous game, he's had a couple opportunities to poster people. He's still in shape to play 45+ minutes like he did against Boston and still have it in him to knock down big shots, he's a redonkulous athlete, just not in peak form. The sample size is obviously tiny but if he really has figured out his 3-ball it's hard not to think he'll be an all-star at some point in his career, assuming his dumb ass doesn't get himself into trouble again.

Jake Fisher is reporting that the executives around the league do not expect miles Bridges to resign with the Hornets and the offseason.

No idea if this is based on any actual factual reporting or just gut feelings from executives. That being said, let's just consider for a moment that this report is true. Unless mitch is very confident that miles is going to resign, you've got to move him at some point in the season to get something of value and return. Taking the mass of PR hit to bring him back just to let him walk at the end of the summer would be just monumentally stupid.

Obviously losing miles would be a tough blow considering he's playing at a near All-Star level and he and lamelo have such great chemistry.

It may be as simple as people around the league do not expect the current front office to be in place next July when these decisions are made. And that a new front office may want to have a clean slate when it comes to to miles. Just a guess.

I mean what can you really get for him?

He’s on a 8 Million Dollar Contract, so you’re gonna have to package miles with someone else on the team to try and get fair value. Nobody else in the league is a top 60 player and only has a 8 Million Dollar Contract.

That’s also ignoring who else could we package him with? The only real answer is Terry, but although Terry’s play style isn’t exactly keen to winning but he’s been an important part of the Hornets for Years.

Also when trading for MB teams have huge leverage and can just gaslight the hornets about how much he’s actually worth because of the Domestic Violence Charges.

Trading MB is an unlikely thing from my perspective, how do you see it?

We most likely will package him with Hayward before the trade deadline. I mean are we stupid enough to let him walk for nothing?

Why would we take the heat to sign him at all if we have no plans to keep him longterm?
Also, what is the plan then? Resign Hayward over Miles?
Or just let both walk and continue to get worse?

Seems like a silly report to me, it's the beginning of December. There are a ton of things to sort out before FA next summer.

I don't care if Bridges leaves. Good player, but I seriously wonder if the NBA has a PED problem. When I see these guys that jump super high and also have angry outbursts I wonder if they are on some high dose testosterones.

First there was the Blake Griffin thing. Now you have Morant getting into physical fights over stupid stuff. Also Bridges, who part if his game is going to be helped by jumping higher and staying leaner, having these angry type outbursts.

After he misses a whole year for us and blows a chance to get a big contract, he is still having outbursts. That shows he either can't really control it or is just a dumb ass. It would be foolish to trust him with a contract. Unlikely to get anything in a trade because he is a restricted free agent and has to agree to the trade.

That's the million-dollar question right? Why on Earth would we take all the Heat to bring him back if we didn't think we had a clear path to resigning him. Again and this is just me guessing, it is possible that a new front office doesn't want to start their tenure by resigning a potential keg of dynamite to a massive long-term deal. It may just prefer to wipe this leg clean and try to build around lamelo Miller and Mark.

Personally, at this point, I would rather keep him long-term. The pr damage is already done. The relationship with the ex is toxic and volatile and hopefully it doesn't get worse. But his chemistry with lamelo is undeniable. And he's a borderline All Star talent that we won't be able to sign in free agency.

To answer other questions, I think if we decided to trade him during the season, we can't expect to get equal return especially considering his $8 million salary. However it would be pretty easy to package his 8 million salary with one of our other expiring like bouk or Hayward depending on the salary of what we can get in return. We're probably talking about 25 to 50 cents on the dollar in terms of what we get back especially since he's on a short-term deal. That's the gamble that you take. is it better to keep him around with the hope of resigning him but also the possibility of losing him for nothing? Or take what you can get for him even if the value is way below his to hedge from him leaving in the summer and being left with nothing.
