Heard of Balkan Beat box and love Beirut, haven't heard of the rest. Definitely checking them out.

Very excited about the return of the yacht rock station to sirius xm. Just in my time at lunch I heard George Benson, Steely Dan, Groover Washington Jr and Micheal McDonald.

Bump, can't let this slip to 2nd page.
What do you folks think about a more formal listening club where someone picks a band / album per week and we listen to and chat about it throughout the week? There's enough music interest and knowledge on here that I think that it could really work.
On an unrelated note, I've been on a bit of a classical kick lately. Currently bumping Bach's Mass in B Minor:

Re: OT: What Are You Listening to Now?
I'd be down if it was a few songs from an album rather than the entire thing. I'm not sure I could stomach an entire album of some of the music people listen to.

Really been listening to incredibly white music lately.
Scandinavian folk based on viking runes? What's not to like?
Wardruna - Runaljod-Yggdrasil

You may need robot ears to enjoy this, otherwise it may scare you.

Nice, been a while since I listened to them. I use to listen to their album Ruminant Band all the time, haven't listened to any of their other stuff much.

Checking out this Dead & Company show on youtube - John Mayer is nailing some Jerry tones and playing style, I'm super impressed. I've seen some of his blues stuff and I knew he could play, but man he is killing it.

I watched the bonnaro show they did on youtube and mayer is amazing at guitar, his stage presence is pretty awful though, he just looks so goofy the whole time.

Re: OT: What Are You Listening to Now?
I am taking up YB's idea of highlighting an album by posting about Gil Scott-Heron's Pieces of Man, which I've been listening to of late as it seems more timely than ever. https://open.spotify.com/album/3HsWjdL2LBJfgHlDFJthHL Most people know "The Revolution Will Not be Televised" as a seminal precursor to rap, but its also something of a history lesson and proves the saying the more things change . . . The music on the album, with 18 yr old Brian Jackson on keyboards, is hip and jazzy, while the lyrics throughout the 1971 recording remain universal 45 years later.
Bonus: while Gun came 10 yrs after Pieces of Man, I add the video here to underscore what a prescient & funky figure Scott-Heron was in the story of American music.
