Re: Fake Trade Thread #7
Gafford makes sense to me. Dallas can afford to let him go, could do with some shooting while Kyrie is recovering so someone like Nick Smith Jr could be interesting. He is signed for another 3 years at a reasonable contract while still being only 26.
has solid stats across the board. would be a solid starter now and barring serious injury would be tradeable in the future

The Mavericks are currently looking to convert Gafford into guard help with Kyrie down. Some of their fans were building proposals for Sexton at the deadline where the Mavs were surrendering draft capital.
But the Hornets beat them to it.

yeah soon as you mentioned his name before in here i remembered reading that. does feel like a good fit
heck maybe they won't mind Green back with NSjr to make the salaries match. he didn't upset the team there and had some ok games.
ill even throw in a second

I'm sure Jeff would love to return Green to sender. But would Nico love it?
Who knows with that guy.
He probably wants us to give back that 2027 top-2 protected with Flagg landing on a shuffleboard. Kyrie out. AD hanging by a thread.
But yeah, I'd offer some good 2nd rounders to land Gafford. Dude is a dog, like Sexton.

In this situation I’d certainly give up Green and their nasty pick back for Gafford. Not an ideal starter but who could be at this point?
Whatever is done it NEEDS TO BE DONE TODAY, TONIGHT OR TOMORROW. Mitch would wait around, smoke some pot, build a model airplane, then realize the damn options were all gone.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #7
The gang at Hornets SI have suggested a mock trade to the Knicks for Mitchell Robinson. Includes sending Gerald Williams and Okogie out. Somehow it works in the trade machine even with more salary hitting NY.
I would do this trade in an instant. Don’t know why the Knicks would, but Robinson is a real starting center. Not ideal in the fit to Lee’s wack a 3 system, but he’s good around the basket, rebounds, blocks some shots.

He's the mashup of every bobcats player from 2005 to 2013.

Mitchell Robinson would be a very nice trade. He would make us immediately better on defense

Re: Fake Trade Thread #7

Collins best year was when he was playing centre at Atlanta. he did 20/10/1.6blks in the 19-20 centre. the defense is already bad, lets go full 2000s Phoenix and score as much as possible.
Josh Green and Pat Connaughton 2 seconds for Collins.
heck, i would give one of our crappy firsts so Ainge can save face and we get off the Green salary. (that worst of 3-4 teams one which is sure to end up in the 20's).
at the very least it would be a more entertaining tank team to watch.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #7
I want Collins but more as a Miles replacement. Yes he can play a little 5, but prefer at the 4. Can they absorb a giant shipment of guards also? Agree give em that crappy Dallas first and one of our gazillion seconds.
With Tre back in the fold where do all these guards play? I’m confused Jeffie.

Pat Connaughton for Robert Williams III works, and frees cap for the Blazers. Don't be shy with those 2nd round picks, Mr. Peterson.

I can get behind that. It's not asset acquisition, rather talent acquisition, so I dunno how we'd judge the character of the trade. But I like it even with his injury history.

Plumlee might make sense as a hedge given Timelord's injury history. Blazers probably want to save money at the position with 2 recent first round draft picks playing the 5.

i think Utah's priority would be finding minutes for Ace. I suggested Collins at centre as no one seems to want Miles and our centre rotation is so weak

Believe me I’d gladly get Collin’s to play center and figure out the rest.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #7
It'd be hilarious and depressing at the same time, but we should trade a 2nd and NSJ or KJ for Nick Richards. He's stuck behind Maluach and Mark in Phoenix.
The Blazers are another obvious spot to trade with for center. Does anyone think they may trade Clingan or Williams?

This sounds good to me. Between Kalk/Moussa and Plumlee we can use Williams in smaller chunks like Boston did and have matchup options covered too.
