yeah Norris Cole is a baller. great hair too. another one of those small school guys that rips through the competition like Jenkins did. Nice defender that scores and dishes.

He's that guy everybody talked about for about a week after he put up a 41 point, 20 (yes twenty) rebound, 9 assist game. Remember that?

EDIT: here's a nice article on him http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=6146554

I would be happy with Cole or Jenkins. If there's anyone in the second round that has that Arenas factor, it's one of those guys. The more I think about it, I would probably fire on Jenkins at 19 because he could be gone by 25.

Yeah, dude is a baller for sure. I like him better than Isiah Washington (not Zeke) anyway.

I'm not even sure Charles Jenkins is the best player from the CAA. (Jamie Skeen anybody?)

I know nothing about Norris Cole. I would dearly love for Jeremy Tyler to fall to #39. That would be a nice present for the Bobcats.

I agree as well. In my eyes Harris is a SF, although i'm guessing they are thinking of him as more of a SG. I would be VERY surprised and a bit angry if Vucevic was still there and we passed on him. Leonard at 9 would be a decent pick but Leonard AND Vucevic would be a good draft. I'm still not completely sold on Leonard becuase of the style of play he plays. I mean he seems to me to be a lot like Henderson except taller. He plays good defense and has a good all around game but has yet to find that long range shot. So that scares me a bit, but i'll trust all the scouts who believe in his potential enough to say he could go top 5. Seeing as he has been in the top 5 on a lot of mocks I guess I can't be too mad at him being with us at 9. We would need to hope that one of him or Hendo develop a shot though.

That Norris kid is interesting. I'm guessing Silas and company are looking more at him being a good option to play with Liv on the bench. Livingston is so good at that mid-range game but isn't the best PG. The two of them might be a pretty good combo in the back-court, and if there not then no worries because you just play Liv at PG and use Carroll. I wouldn't mind that pick one bit but I also like David Lighty for his shooting.

I think it's safe to say with the hiring of Cho that we'll be moving at least one of these picks.

And if we do, hopefully it is move we all think of as saying "we got the better end of the deal". I actually think Cho is a young shrewd negotiator. Seems the Portland fans liked him, so that is good news.

When Cho was asked what the Bobcats need he said shooting and another big. That big needs to be a 5 if possible. Vucevic is the only meaningful big likely available at 19, so if our shooter comes at 9 (Klay?) then we gotta grab big V. If they consider twin #1 a big (I don't, he doesn't but I think they do) and take him at 9 then our target at 19 has to be either Thompson or Brooks. I mean, how does it help us to draft another 4 unless we've got a deal in place to get rid of 1?

Still, I'd be OK with a potentially great SF at 9 and Vuceviv at 19, or perhaps Brooks/Thompson there. That means we got to FA to get our 5's (Kwame and "fill in the blank"), which means wait till later on our 5 of the future.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I look for us to wheel and deal. I think that Cho will really target Klay based on his shooting comments. Plus I think SIlas did like Klay as well. Hopefully Cho will steer us clear away from either Morris twin. My prediction is that our top targets will be Klay Thompson and Vucevic to fill both of our biggest needs. If the draft falls like many are now projecting (Leonard falling to 9) then I see teams being interested in a possible trade back and then we still target Klay and Vucevic. This is where it will be GREAT to have an innovative GM. Trade 9 to fall back and still get our guys. I think the Suns would be a team possibly interested in Leonard with Grant Hill getting older and them playing Dudley more and more at SG. We'll see, but I think we will see at least one deal and I have a good feeling that we will like it. This makes me even more excited about the draft!!

Monti had a really good workout for teams Monday. He had been lifting weights before his Sat. performance and wa tired. Excuses?

Anyway, if we go with Klay at #9, I really want to go Big at #19. And I like Vucevic and also Monti at #19. I think Vucevic is more of a sure thing, with a lower ceiling. But I absolutely would not mind Monti at #19. He has Top 10 talent, and if he falls to #19 I think it is very solid value. 3 years from now, it would not shock me at all if Monti turns out to be the steal of the draft if he falls that far. But he would have to live up to his potential, and that is always the risk.

According to DX we like Bitchsmack

DraftExpress Jonathan Givony wrote:
From what I've been told: Bobcats, Bucks, Warriors, Jazz RT @YossiNBA: If Biyombo slips past Detroit, which team is heavily considering him.

but then also mentions

DraftExpress Jonathan Givony wrote:
Both Thompsons, Hamilton, Marcus Morris, Biyombo. RT @ConnorHuchton: Other than Leonard, who else is a possibility for the Bobcats at 9?

Overall he says that no GM has made up their mind.

PS. He has been heaping the praise on Bitchsmack, likes his basketball IQ.
DraftExpress Jonathan Givony wrote:
Biyombo's combination of length, athleticism, intensity, aggressiveness and smarts is simply unheard of. Pass on him at your own peril.

^^^^Oh no. Please tell me you just made that up. Except for Leonard and Klay Thompson, not really interested in the others at #9. Now if we end up trading Diaw or TT on draft night, then I would be interested in him at #9. But as it stands, he just wont be getting any PT behind those 2. We have way too much $ invested in them to not have them on the court.

Going to put this here since it involved picks. But on RGM trade board, someone put up this one:
Wolves trade Flynn, Randolph and #20
Cats trade Henderson, Najera and #19.

Hendo has shown more promise than Flynn and Randolph, so I likely pass. But a year ago, I would have probably taken it.

I really hope all the talk around Biyombo (if there is any) by our front office is designed to induce some team ahead of us to gamble on him, thereby pushing another player down toward us. Givony is swooning over this guy, but he's exactly what Silas said we do not want (unproven talent).

Well, you know that the crowds in Charlotte will have a built in chant for him every time he makes a block or another great defensive play. He's from the Congo. "Biyombo, buma ye! Biyombo, buma ye!"
Now that would be something to see! :-) Hey, he wasn't even born when Ali whipped Foreman that day, but the chant still works.

Man I swear if Biyombo or Morris get called by the Charlotte Bobcats at number 9 I'm not sure what I would do. That would be a nightmare come true. Just stick with an actual C in Nikola Vucevic and pick up a SF at 9.

I'd like to see the Cats make a run at Arron Afflalo who's a restricted free agent this off season. Rather than try to outbid DEN who I assume wants to keep him, how about offering DEN our #9 for sign and trade Afflalo?
AA is 25 yo, 6'5 shoots 42% on 3 pointers already proven at the NBA level. Not sure who's actually going to pan out at the 9 in this draft, maybe make a trade for someone proven with upside?

i am a big afflalo fan since he is on my dynasty fantasy bball team.

great defender, good 3pt shooter especially from the corners, solid passer.

he'll never be a star, but he is definitely a quality role player, solid starter on the right team. someone who makes his team better. he is probably best served though in a complimentary role on a good team next to some stars. he would be great in dallas in that stevenson role, or in chicago (ironically) in the bogans/brewer role, or in okc in the thabo role. he is definitely better than anyone miami has on their bench. nyc could use him in the fields role.

i think a lot of playoff level teams looking for defense and 3pt shooting will try to get afflalo away from denver. of course, denver also loves him, so....

i'm not sure he is what the bobcats need at this time however, at least not at the expense of a lottery pick.

He's Hendo with legit range. Might as well see if Hendo can add a three point shot rather than give up a top #10 pick for someone who isn't that much different IMO.
