Yeah, done deal. Then try to move Al for a PG.

Al to Pelicans for Eric Gordon
Hendo to Knicks for Calderon

Calderon
Gordon
MKG
Cousins
Hawes (spacing for Cousins, but Biz could give rim protection if went that route)

Actually I don't hate it. I'd actually want Cousins at center and Vonleh starting at the 4- Cousins/Vonleh just feels right. We would have to nail our MLE signing though- backcourt is shabby at best.

Ways to add to roster,

Nail the MLE signing
Trade Barnes for help
Resign Mo
Resign Biz
Include Marvin in the deal for Thompson

I like Smart, but no. I'd do Smart and the 16, though.

Smarts value is rather piss poor right now. Unless you're a Boston fan

Yeah I like Smart too, but not really for this roster.

After grabbing a couple wings in Batum and Lamb along with the Zeller rumors, maybe we offer up Zeller and MKG in a package to get Cousins

I would really hate losing MKG

I think the Kaminsky stuff is just posturing for the Knicks. If Cho can somehow fleece the Knicks for their pick in a deal like Calderon and 4 for Marvin, 9, and our top 5 protected 2016 first I think we'll have to start pushing him as one of the better GMs in the league.

Kemba/Calderon
Batum/Lamb
MKG/Hairston
Zeller/Porzingis
Jefferson/Hawes/Biyombo

Drools....

1. In drafting Vonleh, they created a surplus at PF
2. In trading Vonleh, they eliminated that surplus

Conclusion - Consolidation move. They won't recreate a surplus at PF. Cody is their investment, thus they will concentrate resources elsewhere.

I think they're still in the market for wings… even after getting Lamb + Batum.

There is another consolidation move in there involving any combination of PJ, MKG, pick 9

Who is playing backup PF though? Marv (yuck)? Hawes (too slow)?

I think Marv for Jason Thompson makes sense because Thompson can play C in a pinch.

I'd start Cody and have Spencer lead the second unit (with Jeremy Lamb). Cody is active enough to help Al on defense when he inevitably gets rooted to the floor and can't move his damn feet

That contract though. I know the salary cap is going up, but having both him and Hawes on the tab for the next 2-3 years is too much for my liking. Id rather Marvin just expire.

This is why you always draft BPA. If anything you have an asset in a future trade. If we would have drafted for need last year in McDermott or Stauskas, and they played for us like they did their respective teams we wouldn't have gotten a bucket of horse piss for them. Let alone Batum.

Ok so the Celtics are shopping Marcus Smart and the 18th pick aggressively to get into the top 10. How about 9 + Marvin for Smart, Olynyk, and #18? Maybe Myles Turner will be there and we could groom him for the future center spot.

Kemba - Marcus Smart
Batum - Jeremy Lamb
MKG - Hairston
Zeller - Hawes - Olynyk
Big Al - Biyombo/Myles Turner

That's a team that could be decent now and have a bright future...

I think we will be aggressively shopping big Al plus 9th pick this draft.

With Stein saying we were looking to trade up into the top 5 and Cho saying that he isn't done wheeling and dealing I wonder what we're offering? I imagine we've talked to the Knicks, Magic, and Kings. Out of those 3 I think the Knicks are most likely to make a deal. With the Knicks strongly being linked to Monroe I doubt they're interested in Al. I think the 9th pick and our slightly protected 2016 1st would have to be on the table, but I question whether taking on Calderon for say Marvin Williams would be enough on top of that. I don't want to move Zeller with us having traded Vonleh away, so if that's the price we should stay put. We could also send them Kemba I suppose, which would mean we're likely targeting Mudiay but I'd much rather keep him and draft Porzingis.

Edit: We could also get involved with any potential Kings, Lakers deal to send some of our expiring contracts to Sacramento but that likely wouldn't materialize until after the draft. The Kings will drag that out to get more offers from other teams. Either way if we move the 9th I hope it's to either move up for Porzingis or trade back with the Celtics to take Portis and a point like Rozier.

Kings might want to trade down, but still be in the top 10

9th, 39th + Marvin for 6th and Thompson/Landry

Marvin and WCS for Hezonja and Landry should be enough . It basically depends on how much Detroit wants Hezonja over Johnson. Denver likely takes whoever falls of Porzingis, Mudiay and Winslow.
