We saw some of that when Luke Ridnour was here 2 years ago. Kemba just seems to be extremely conservative and doesn't look to make similar plays - also see throwing lobs. I think Lin will have plenty of freedom to do this kind of thing. Our players will adapt.

The thing that struck me about that video is how much Melo leaked out on the break. I don't see us having one guy abandoning the boards like that so much, but it will be interesting to see how that skill gets put to use.

you won't see those outlet passing or passing on the run a lot for this team. Lin does not necessarily have to do all these. The expectation of him for this team is to be a solid contributor, not a savior to run the team.

Even more so with Chandler Parsons who really benefitted from Lin's outlet passes, not sure if he is as lucky in Dallas.

Dallas basically plays that sort of style as well, even more extreme than Houston really. So Parsons fit that just fine.

But yeah, the Hornets don't seem to leak out much at all, though we'll see if they adjust that this year, Lamb and Batum are pretty good leak out candidates .

I am not familiar with the Hornets offense... Lin thrives in a pick and roll heavy offense...

Then he's going to HATE playing with Big Al, who might set the worst picks in the history of the world. He's like a human swivel door on an old cowboy saloon.

Conversely he will hopefully gain some enjoyment playing and lobbing to Cody - who screens hard and can really sky.

I am wondering whether that's one reason for the DWill-Sloan feud.

I am wondering whether Zeller is one big reason Cho wanted Lin; he was a no.4 pick afterall.

Well good thing Lin will play with the second unit. Al is NOT that guy.

do we even do pick and roll? feels like most of our pick plays are pick and pops.

Jeremy Lin Gets What He Wants In Charlotte

http://2paragraphs.com/2015/07/jeremy-lin-gets-what-he-wants-in-charlotte/

Jeremy Lin brings a global contingent of fans with him wherever he goes. But something different is happening in Charlotte. Yes, the Linsanity millions who follow Lin's every move are pumped to move into the Hornets hive. (Lin recently had to remind this group the franchise wasn't in New Orleans anymore.) But Charlotte's long-suffering fans -- who previously had no particular reason to love Lin -- are embracing the Lin signing too, for pure basketball reasons.

Despite being a small market in the big NBA scheme, Charlotte is true and deep basketball country. We're talking ACC country, home to many of the finest college basketball programs in history. These fans know their hoops, and it's a great match between Lin and his newly acquired Carolina fans. For the first time in a while, the focus will be entirely on Jeremy Lin's basketball. Not his stardom and celebrity -- and it's exactly what Lin wants. Pure basketball, -- a chance to get to the next level, to contribute on a winner, to improve, to see how far he can take his unique skill set, to prove naysayers wrong. Jeremy Lin wants to become Michael Jordan's best move since he soared over Craig Ehlo or crossed over Bryon Russell.

I can definitely see Lin throwing down a pass like this to MKG on the break resulting in a demolishing dunk. Unsure about Al, but definitely MKG!

Interesting analysis on the numbers/stats for both Walker and Lin. Can't wait for the season to start!

BigSlam wrote:I'm really looking forward to seeing cut into the paint and finish at the rim - which he does really well.

He tends to twist and turn when he's there rather than using his left (he goes left, but doesn't really use his left).

Would love to see him work on that a little so he can protect the ball a little more.

Wish we kept him and took Okafor. I'll be pulling for JLin and the Hornets when not playing my dysfunctional Lakers.

:o

Is that an entire five minute video featuring only clips of Lin going to his left hand in the 2014-15 season? Talk about a ridiculously specific video.

very specific because ever since he broke out with the Knicks, pundits always criticized that Lin couldn't go left.
