Happy Draft Day! This is like an annual festive holiday for Hornets fans, since we are perpetually picking in the lottery.

Good news! We know we will have the opportunity to pick whomever is not selected third from Ace, VJ, Tre or Fears. Gotta throw Kon in there too since the smoke is all around his name. The easy step is to draft at 4, especially if it’s VJ or Ace.

Will Hornets take a huge haul to trade down with either Ace or VJ still on the board for the taking? How rich is the offer? Their possible dilemma is mine also. Drafting Tre, and especially Kon at 4, just feels a bit too high. If they really want a different player, it makes sense to quire big extras to still get that guy. Nets and Wizards would be the players here.

Beyond making a good early draft choice I really want both seconds traded up into the first round. We need to take a big available in that mid range. Since the Hornets are seemingly dead set on trading Mark, is there a team with interest who might take Williams and both seconds (or 1 second pick) to deal a pick in the range to get Sorber, or perhaps Beringer? Givony says the Timberwolves at 17 are open to trading that pick for future assets.

No matter how this plays out, Peterson and company CANNOT BLOW THIS DRAFT!
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Who are you guys rumored to be going after? I'm hoping Charlotte doesn't give in because players didn't want to work out for them. If they like someone, they need to still take him.

I feel like at minimum, take Bailey (if VG isn't there) and then trade him later.

It just needs to be one of VJ/Kon/Tre/Ace. I don't care which one at this point, just one of those.

Windhorst saying Boston might be listening to offers for Jaylen Brown they want to get in the top 10.

Jaylen Brown contract is crazy, but man I like his fit with this team especially if we keep Melo/Miller. He fits nicely at the wing spot and he actually attacks the paint!

Bridges/Nurkic/#4 I think would be my offer.

Boston trading Jaylen Brown would be wild. They’re doing a serious roster overhaul. But yeah it would be hard not to be tempted to do that. Our odds of getting a player better than that tonight are like less than 5%

After seeing what Desmond Bane got I think they’d want a couple more unprotected first thrown in.

Desmond Bane contract actually looks manageable compared to the 300 million overall, 50 plus per season Brown is getting. they going to have to kill those multiple first dreams

Agree that this first round group is higher quality than many years. That’s why I so badly want the Hornets to trade both seconds to get back up into the first for a big.

I do agree with this 1000%. Even if it was a whiff of a draft pick hopefully it sent a message that this is the expectation moving forward. And then they doubled down by adding moose into the mix. I guarantee you those two are the hardest workers in the locker room right now.

Again, agree with nata, that you can't be concerned with character when the Hornets have been running campaigns featuring miles for the past few months. If they trade miles this offseason then maybe I'll believe that they do actually care about character moving forward.
