Yeah, I didn't think we could until I double checked the thing. BBref separates the minutes, other sites sometimes combine them, I'm sure.

EDIT: Should we start posting rotations and stuff soon? Or at least getting them together?

"bad news" barnes can sit on the bench like spencer "the broken mirror" haywood will sit on mine. if by chance we get the motivated good versions we get top 20 bigs. if not, oh well.

Lamar, I appreciate the info on Barnes. It sucks to see how many guys were effected by drugs back in the day.

It's not my pick now is it?

Sorry Fats wasn't paying attention.

For my last pick I'm taking Doug Christie. A valuable all around player and excellent defender.

best year 16.5pts, 3.6 assists, 2.4 steals and 5.2 rebounds.

Makes my team look a little like this.

Pg. G. Payton, M. Blaylock, C. Murphy
Sg. P. Maravich, Latrell Sprewell, W. Free
Sf. L. Bird, B. Cunningham, D. Christie
Pf. W. Unseld, L. Nance, D. Coleman
C. B. Walton, A. Sabonis, D. Dawkins

"Stormin'" Norman Van Lier

Image

Only played in the league for 10 years, and was named to either the First (3x) or Second (5x) defensive teams in 8 of them. That's an awesome accomplishment considering he was up against other great guard defenders like West, Sloan, Frazier, and Havlicek.

I think he'll be a nice addition and gives me a scorer, shooter, and stopper at every position.

PG: Mark Price / Tim Hardaway / Norm Van Lier
SG: Rick Barry / Alvin Robertson / Byron Scott
SF: Scottie Pippen / Glen Rice / Robert Horry
PF: Patrick Ewing / Bob Pettit / Anthony Mason
CE: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar / Bob Lanier / Vlade Divac

I can see already that I'm going to be unable to pick a winner.

Just too many great players and mixes.

Team Lamar

PG John Stockton / Gus Williams / Gail Goodrich
SG Sidney Moncrief / Adrian Dantley / Nate McMillan
SF Dale Ellis / Alex English
PF Kevin McHale / Connie Hawkins / Buck Williams / Bad News
C Hakeem Olajuwon / Bill Laimbeer / Jack Sikma

(Gus and Gail would probably share their minutes at the start of the season and then I'd pick the one who's playing better for the back-up PG position. AD and English would play more than Sidney Moncrief and Dale Ellis, yet Sidney's starting to get more minutes guarding someone like MJ and I need Dale Ellis out there, so he and Stock could kill you if you double team The Dream. He would probably be on the court during the last minutes as well, as we would probably give the ball to Hakeem in the post during the crucial possessions. Either he'll try to pull off some of his moves or you double team him and I got some shooters out there. However the task for English and Dantley is to score off the bench. Laimbeer doesn't need the ball that much, he and Hawkins would knock some people down, plus Connie is famous for his outlet passes, so he could probably feed my scorers after a rebound. Although it didn't quite turn out the way I wanted to, this team still has a lot of defensive-minded guys. As was my intention at first, the starting five would play half-court basketball and be a tough team to beat on offense. Hakeem and Kevin are outstanding defenders and can you imagine anyone better in the post move department than them. I feel sorry for Buck Williams and Jack Sikma, who also are tough guys and won't get as many minutes, but I guess during the regular season I'd try to give them some playing time. Maybe Sikma could prove to be better than Bill and Buck could do the same with Connie. Basically - I have six tough front-court guys (and Marvin Barnes eating nachos on the bench), so you can't expect any easy points in my painted area (I love the way Hubie Brown says it).

All of this is just my imagination, since the rotations won't really play any part in the voting... just wanted to drop a quick piece... it's not like we're simulating all of this, although it would be cool... if we did on http://www.whatifsports.com , per example

i figure once countryboi makes his final picks we can each do a brief summary of expecting playing style rotations etc... prior to voting. similar to how we did with the last draft.

Sounds good. If someone wants to sim it that would be fine, I just don't see how it could work. How do these online sims work, lamar?

So glad Hornacek got some love, I used to love watching him pull off his circus shots.

Well, they are used for these kinds of drafts pretty often. Only thing is that you can only sim a matchup for free - http://www.whatifsports.com/nba/ (can have some fun with this)
In order to create your own sim league, (like our own) or I think that you can even create your own team and participate in all kinds of tournaments, you need to sign up for some membership, which of course isn't for free.
But the simulation is pretty good, you are able to set up your tactic, all kinds of offensive and defensive sets etc. If anybody is up for this, we'd only need one membership for someone, who would be willing to organize the simulation process.

Here's an example of a draft using whatifsports from this one particular forum I'm a part of

http://www.mixmakers.net/forums/f13/off ... 16431.html

This is after the drafting process of course.
