If Nic is gonna get that kind of max. Just let him walk, that is just too much of cap space to spend on someone at his level. He is not a superstar yet. Damn i hate this situation, overpaying everywhere.

It's just the reality of the times. The numbers look bigger but they're no different from any other year when compared to the salary cap.

Case in point:

Yeah that's right. I hope he will give us discount for the shake of the good year he had with us.
$133M for a guy who couldnt stay healthy and hadn't play a full season since he came to the league, crazy, lol.

As I posted in the other thread, if the deal is 5 years/$120mill (last year a player option) then Bats took $15 or so million less than he could of.

Solid move.

Glad to have him locked up and at less than the full max.

Yeah, Nic is cool and the Vonleh trade is now officially good.

Much more than what i thought but considering all the crazyness with numbers for other players, i guess it does not look that bad now.

At least everyone is fixed now.

Don't see how anyone can't be ecstatic with this deal, he's taking considerably less so we can build up the rest of the team. Great work by Cho and co.

His first year is right at his cap hold. Fantastic deal.

Gave him a player option on his 5th year, which I am totally ok with.

This is pretty much an ideal scenario for us. Very happy with the deal. He could have held out and gotten a four year max elsewhere.

Damn good deal. Right before I fell asleep I saw DeRozan's 5 year/$139M and figured that was the baseline. Instead Nic takes another $19M less. Awesome.

Thank you Cho. I have no doubt if Higgins were still our GM we would be worse than Philly. We just need a consultant to work with Cho on drafting (or keep MJ at bay when he demands we take Kaminsky). Always convinced Cho didn't want Frank, but MJ made him.
Who I woulda took:
2023: Miller | 2022: Duren | 2021: Bouknight, Jones | 2020: Ball | 2019: PJ | 2018: MPJ | 2017: Monk | 2016: Damian Jones | 2015: Winslow | 2014: Vonleh, Napier | 2013: McLemore | 2012: MKG | 2011: Knight, Kawhi

Without knowing the future this is a perfect deal for both parties. We get him for less than the max and he gets a player option which, and blackout can correct me if I'm wrong, but it allows him to get one more 5 year max before the weird age limit. I'm not sure he'd get that if he is locked up for all 5.

Anyone else think it's hilarious how the Blazers gave us Batum for two bad players because they didn't want to pay him big dollars this summer, and now it's this summer and they are throwing the max at Chandler Parsons?
