though they did come to an agreement. hypothetically, shouldn't it mean that they now still have to sign him to that deal, only it being a regular contract of a team operating under the cap?

They also offered no state income tax and Miami so.... yeah, can't blame him.

“He was the right coach for me,” McRoberts said. “I feel kind of disrespected when people say it’s a breakout year for me because I was just never given an opportunity before that. Whenever I’ve been given an opportunity, I feel like I’ve had success in whatever role is asked of me. I’ll be forever grateful to Cliff for giving me an opportunity last year and we were able to put together a good season as a team.”
He said he’s disappointed Josh McRoberts chose to leave for the Miami Heat, but that McRoberts’ departure wasn’t because the Hornets weren’t willing to pay him as much as the Heat did.

If thats the case so long. He must have felt that he would be eventually supplanted by Zeller. Complete BS if you ask me. If not for us giving him a chance he wouldn't have received that contract.
The quoted part was in Jordans interview today.

Mcbob did the same thing to the Pacers during their rebuild after they gave him a chance and left for the brighter lights with the Lakers. You would have thought he'd know better but I guess not. He want to be famous so bad. Lol
