I thought he'd be a good rim protector but he's statistically the best in the league, better than Hibbert, Noah, Howard, Chandler, Gasol etc.

I thought he's be good garbage man and screen setter, he's top ten in effective screens in the league which is amazing in 14.7mpg.

In terms of rebounding, he's nearly averaging what he was as a rookie in half the minutes which is an achievement.

Per36 he's averaging 7.9/12.2/0.2/2.8/0.2 on .607 from the field and .538 from the charity stripe.

This guy is going to be very, very good imo.

If were going by per 36 numbers Zeller is an all star. I just thought he would be way better going into his 4th season in the league. Still struggles to catch passes and finish, has good form on his jumper, but it wont go down in the 3 attempts hes had this year. I still have faith in him, but we can all agree that after his triple double vs Dwight his rookie year we all thought he would be better.

He's still got about a quarter of his third season to go before we start discussing his fourth!

Zeller's per36 are not crash hot and I ride Zeller's nuts hard...

I thought this is where he'd be the whole time, if Biz was playing 27mpg like he was as a rook, his numbers would be pretty damn good imo.

It's clear that he is a much superior player than he was, it's also clear that he can be much better.

I'm actually excited about Biz.

If you told me when we drafted him that nearing the end of his third season, he would be the top rim protector in the NBA statistically, a top ten screener and be a much improved rebounder I'd be pumped.

So yeah, I'm pumped.

Well, he could have always become the next Saer Sene so we have that going for us...

Biz isn't a bust. He is what I thought he would be, a top notch rim protector that can rebound well. I never expected him to be much of a offensive player. His NBA comparison was Ben Wallace for Christ sakes. Lol. I just wish we found a way to use him more. Catching the ball is still probably his biggest issue but he's better at it then when he first came into the league.

For most teams, yes. But we're a football team.

We have an offense and a defense. No special teams as far as I know, though.

When did 12 and 9 become all-star numbers? Especially when you do it while shooting under 40% from the field as a big man. You have to remember you can't judge his development by year in the league. He and Zeller are basically the same age so comparing the two Biz at least has something he really excels at while the other guy is not even average at anything. I was hoping he would be better by now but he is improving and would put up better numbers if he could get on the court regularly.

i'd be much happier of biz was posting pics of somebody throwing tennis ball at his face and he had to catch them with one hand. or playing ping pong or hitting baseballs or anything that involves hand-eye coordination.

Crossfit while questionable does a good job of getting someone in shape. I am not for the games and all that but the workouts are not easy. I agree that along with those work outs he needs to be doing basketball work. I would prefer to get him set up with red kickballs and a jugs machine. Just launch those things at him and get him to work on catching.

Wesley Walls bought one when he came to the Panthers and would have his wife fire footballs at him at the park. It worked out great for him so why not use it again for Biz.

Biz needs to practice catching in game situations, not just have a machine throwing stuff at him in a park. Every scrimmage and garbage time Biz needs to be spoon fed passes because it isn't necessarily catching that he sucks at it's catching in the paint while another big guy is pushing him off balance or grabbing his arm or similar physical contact. Really, working his lower body and balance would help his catching passes ability the most IMO.

I will go to the park with him and grab and push while you fire the kickballs and we will make a star out of him yet.

Deal.

---------------------------------------------

You know something else Biz is good at that isn't utilized at all? End to end speed for his size. I'm willing to bet he's on the short list of running bigs, he's definitely in the Drummond, Jordan category. Grant it, he can't catch but I've seen him catch passes in stride on the break before and he is less likely to get bumped off balance running in the open court. A Kemba, Hendo, MKG, Zeller, Biz lineup could run anybody out of the gym, I wish Clifford would let the 2nd unit play more uptempo. Next year a mixed bench/starter lineup of Kemba, Viking, MKG, Zeller and Biz would destroy most teams' 2nd units in a track meet.

@sik

big difference between these statements

biz is the best backup center in the league
biz is the best value at backup center in the league
biz has the most potential of any backup center in the league

i was only responding to the first statement. our views are much closer together in regards to the other two statements.
