I like Waiters + cap space more than Lance + Zeller.

I prefer keeping Hendo to losing an asset for Waiters. Not a fan of him at all.

Why do we want Stephenson then?
Because Stephenson is a great facilitator and rebounder as well. Id probably do the Waiter for Zeller deal, but Id much rather prefer Stephenson
Waiters is a great facilitator also and a much better scorer and shooter than Lance which is what we need.
Obviously not that good on the defensive end, but not terrible either.
Waiters isn't that ball dominant either, with Kyrie around, he doesn't get much of the opportunity.
Head over to the Cavs board and offer it. They may like it since Wiggins is going to be replacing Waiters.

I'm pretty sure they would but I know they like Waiters, with Wiggins now, they might not give a damn though.

Gerald Henderson to OKC for Mitch McGary?
Hornets purportedly wanted McGary badly.
OKC must like McGary since they surprise picked him at 21, but they need some veteran help on the wing.
Coouldn't hurt to ask.

Start Henderson
Pray that Hairston doesn't get fat and stays out of trouble
Hope that Hairston improves enough to take starting spot next year

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2014-15
Henderson would start and deservedly so, he hardly kills us either cap wise or performance wise.
True leader of our team and model citizen.
We have outgrown his skillset however and if we could trade him for some kind of asset, it would be probably wise to do so.
Hendo doesn't have negative value imo, it's just as neutral as it gets.

If the "rumblings" are true that Cho is working on trades - here is my list of targets he might have:
Jeremy Lin - backup PG
Chandler Parsons - shooting on the wings
Dion Waiters - shooting on the wings/2nd ball handler
FA targets:
Josh McRoberts

Finally a precise and fair description of Hendo.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2014-15
I want to see Cho vulture the Cavs who are trying to open cap space for Lebron. They want to move Jack and he's someone who helps us but I'd try to get Waiters with him. Jack + Waiters > Lance Stephenson.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2014-15
I really hope that Cho's shadowy assassin technique up to this point in free agency has been due to him positioning us to vulture assets during the inevitable firesale when the Lebron/Melo/Bosh dominoes finally fall. We have cap space to burn, assuming we don't use it on someone like Hayward, and the Cavs/Bulls/Rockets/Lakers could all be looking to unload salary with sweetener. If the sweetener is right, and we don't have better options coming down the free agent pipeline, that would be a real smooth way to play it at this point.
I saw a Laker fan on the General Board ask about which teams would take Randle+Nash in the hypothetical scenario that involves LA frantically dumping salary so that Bron and Melo can team up on the Lakeshow. I'd really hope Cho would dive on that one, backup point guard possibly solved plus a blue-chip prospect in one swoop. That's a pretty implausible scenario, but I definitely think more realistic opportunities will open up. Cho's best talent seems to be fleecing teams in trades (including us in his Portland stint) so this seems the best route to follow for improvement assuming we aren't high on Lance or any of the RFAs.

My appetite is wet by the Cav's situation + the Rockets situation. I'm rooting for Lebron to the Cavs and Bosh to the Rockets. I'd love to walk away with Waiters + Jack + Parsons or Hayward + Waiters + Jack or Hayward + Parsons. All incoming players would be young enough that it would be worth pushing cap space to the hilt. There would be plenty of upside on the roster to improve internally for the next 4-5 years. If Cho plays the firesale angle well, we could in one offseason position ourselves as a top-3 seed in the East for the next 5 years with high character guys across the board and entertaining basketball, players who stick and forge a bond with fans across multiple years.

About damn time we had a reasonable Gerald Henderson post on this board. Props.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2014-15
The last thing Cleveland needs is yet another power forward. I know I'd happily take a Zeller for Waiters + Jack deal but with big investments in Thompson and Bennett, do they really need Cody Zeller? They need a center, but Cody simply doesn't have the size to play the 5.Sik Infant wrote:Liver_Pooty wrote:Sik Infant wrote:

Obviously not that good on the defensive end, but not terrible either.

Head over to the Cavs board and offer it. They may like it since Wiggins is going to be replacing Waiters.

Apparently Waiters re-tweeted someone tweeting that he should play for the 76ers for max money. Isn't he from Philly?
