Re: The Gordon Hayward Thread
I said we should just roll McBob's contract into whatever we're offering Hayward / Lance to make sure we don't finish the offseason without a major signing to make up for losing him, and that's still my philosophy. I'm fine with overpaying - McRoberts walking freed up some cash for this. I still remain optimistic that Henderson can be moved next offseason to free up some cash to deal with Kemba and Al.

If this offer ends up bringing Stephenson to the bargaining table it might end up looking pretty damn smart on Cho's part. That's what I'm hoping for at least.
It will get him to the bargaining table. He'll say "Sorry you missed out on Haywood, but I will accept that 4 year $63 million contract."
I'm sure he would, we likely won't have to pay that much though because of the extra risk he represents.

It better be a decent bit less for that nut job. I like his skill set but if he destroys chemistry he isn't worth it.

SMH, I hope we at least trade MKG to a team that'll properly develop him and then we can get something in return for him..smh

5'7 catch-and-shoot three-point shooter. Can drive to the basket a little bit but otherwise has zero handles and is forced to play the off-guard. Weighs about 140, none of which is actually muscle. Has grazed fingertips on the bottom of the rim exactly once ever. Injury-prone, easily tired, not in great shape. Irritatingly inconsistent with jumper. Once scored all 16 points for the team in a USC pickup game, mostly on catch-and-shoot situations in the corner, then bricked everything the next game. Can't defend significantly bigger or faster players. Good offball defender and contests shots well, but can't defend the drive. Finishing ability limited due to lack of size and strength and is working on a Parker-esque floater off the dribble. Rarely goes inside anyway so it doesn't matter. Has never PJ Hairstoned anyone.

Replacing Hendo at the 2. Hayward+MKG would be nice.

He turned down 5 years, $44 million. Maybe offer him 4 years $45 million and let him talk you up to $48? I would take Lance at $48 over Haywood at $63 I think.

I doubt he goes anywhere. MKG is currently our third best starter. If we look to replace anyone in the starting lineup it will be Zeller or Henderson. Hayward was coming to play SG by most peoples accounts. If we go after Parsons I would assume we move MKG to SG and Henderson to the bench.

I'm shocked that we haven't heard MKIA go off on how Hayward is "Cho bait." Whatever the definition of that term is, I think Hayward fits it.

I wouldn't because he can take down the team by himself. If he pans out his ceiling is higher but if he gets pissed he could derail all the work we have done.

the cap went up a lot this year, hence the big raise in max salaries.
it officially went up already? according to wiki less than a million
The cap usually goes up a bit each year, those contacts were a few years ago.

Biz,
You let us know if Cho says no.
You're cool with Prince, Wheaties and using the skyline during the winter yes?

I was thinking Hayward was coming to play SG also, but he's 6'8 and I dont think he's athletic enough to hang with the SG's in the league. I'd rather we move MKG to SG, I think he could be dominate at that position where he can defend and shut down any SG, and he has the power to bully them inside. I dont think we're doing that though, I think Hayward is coming to play SF which is his natural position and MKG would be benched or traded.

You have never been one to shy from self-flattery. This seemed like the perfect time for you to talk about how Cho falls in love with inferior players. If you intend to gain a more realistic perspective of how Cho is operating, I would view that as a major positive development. I suspect that you will continue to pigeonhole him as a simpleton lacking the intellectual and psychic capacities that you enjoy.

I disagree with your assessment of Lance. He could never take down the Hornets cause we have head strong guys in the locker room. Al, Kemba, Hendo, MKG, these guys arent soft like Hibbert, Paul George and George Hill. And our leadership from top down trumps Indiana's. Having the east coast guys who relate to Lance would also help diffuse escalated situations.

Looking at his numbers he is actually the same defensively at SF or SG but is better offensively as a SG. I was curious about his future position and went to 82games.com and saw he was a better SG than SF.

Lol. I love watching you two go back and forth.
