I would actually love to see that just for the lulz.

Does he? I thought it was Marvin?

I'd trade Diaw for Marvin and their pick

J Smoov playing SF with Davis/Biyombo starting = SWAT CITY

I'm a huge Diaw fan; have been since his first breakout year in Phoenix. I think he's still very much capable of playing a valuable 6th/7th man role on a contender. Of course, there would be the distinct risk of Rondo & Diaw getting stuck in infinite unselfishness loops, but I think it's worth it.

Would you consider playing Diaw some Center minutes to save Garnett the trouble?

He asked for that trade. He whined before it.

I think this depends on how high they are on teague. But Smith could be a PF or a SF for us, depending on who we draft.

Isn't marvin on a long contract like Tyrus? I don't want both of them.

EDIT: "The person said one of Smith’s complaints is that he believes the Hawks didn’t do enough to promote him for selection to the All-Star team, which he thinks contributed to lesser players being voted to the team by Eastern Conference coaches. Smith, an Atlanta native who has played his entire eight-year career with the Hawks, also would like to play for a franchise he believes is more committed to winning a championship."

Smith could make an All Star team playing for charlotte. He'd get more touches and look like a leader here, instead of looking like the 3rd best guy on the Hawks.

Would mean we're carrying an extra $7.5 mill next year but an extra first is worth it. Especially seeing they are expiring at the same time as Diop, Carrol, Maggette.

I would hope we could engineer a better deal than that...maybe include DJ with Diaw to procure a real keeper of a player in return. Still, if there is nothing else, perhaps it is worth the extra money next year to gain the extra pick.

Wait..that also means we'd have to cut Higgins!

I think morrow is positive value and a keeper. Not a franchise guy or anything, but a guy who won't hurt you to keep.

Seem slike a bit of a duplication with Reggie already on the roster and under contract - no?

Maybe we could trade Reggie and his very reasonable contract some where for something?

Yes, redundant, but you need more than one shooter on the roster. Redundancy is good if it doesn't hurt you.

I think we need to get some value for Diaw. Unless Diaw just wants to play for the team he owns in France, he can contribute to a team. All themse Diaw+TT trades for guys needing a change of scenery look good to me.

It sure would be a shame to amnesty Tyrus just to have the same contract on the books with Marvin Williams attached to it.

Don't you think there are teams that couldn't sign him (no cap space) but could still use him?

Maybe the Lakers will get desperate and trade Odom's trade exception for him.

I think it's nice. And I bet Najera would resign here once his contract is up as our 10thish man if we wanted.

I would think some team would pick Tyrus up off the amnesty wire. Probably not for his full salary, but enough that he wouldn't be such a big cap hit.

Plus there is a salary minimum now, so I wouldn't mind giving a young player a change of scenery in hopes that he can play. And having the rights to their #1 doesn't hurt either

In light of Josh Smith wanting to be traded, what do y'all think of this trade scenario?

Charlotte gets:
Josh Smith
ATL 1st rd pick

Atlanta gets:
Boris the basket dodger
DJ Augustine

Leading to:
Kemba
Gerald
Maggette
J Smoove
Biz

Then draft Davis with our pick, and maybe a point guard with ATL's pick?

Return to Charlotte Hornets
