What a stupid statement to make.

Now Slam...I don't think it's stupid at all. I don't put the DJ pick as the worst...hardly. But after Morrison, Ajinca, May, who would be worse? The context is the value of the pick position, relative to other available players, relative to the production gained from the player picked, relative to the value returned to the team after their departure. DJ had a few moments for sure, but he never produced relative to his draft tier, and getting nothing for him adds insult to the injury.

JMHO.

John Hollinger ‏@johnhollinger

Appears Bobcats will also have to renounce DJ White (whom they never gave QO) to complete Sessions deal. Don't everybody jump in at once.

I remember a lot of you stating we could get a pick for DJ. At the end of the day, he didn't have that kind of value.

I'm happier with Sessions because now we have a PG that wants to be here and has a pair of danglers between his legs.

I'm not. Keep in mind that Sessions probably won't be our only FA signing.

I'm guessing he got a long-term deal at 4-5m a year or a one-year deal for 6-7m.

JMHO.

Morrison
Felton (a 5th overall pick)
May
Ajinca
Not trading Felton and May for Paul or Williams
Trading a draft pick for Tyrus

There are 6 that were worse without even trying.....

Augustin was a 9th overall pick and pretty serviceable and might have been even better if it wasn't for the Clown breaking him.

A long term deal worth 4-5 a year would be a horrible signing for us.

I don't view 4 years at 16 million as terrible. He is well worth that money. 5 years is too long. 5 million per is pushing it. 4 million, even for 4 years is just about right though.

Still would prefer 3 year deal though. The fact DJ White had to be renounced, even after DJ being signed by IND, does make me worry about how much we gave Sessions though...

Basing on recent PG deals and the Bobcats situation, I'd say its 2 years, 4.75 million per. That way he comes off the cap at the end of next year with Gordon, Diop, etc. when we are ready to throw out a massive deal and contend for the playoffs.

That is the going rate these days. Luke got that from the Wolves, Sessions got that a few years ago, so fourth.

I have no problem if it's the case. A stable backup PG is a valuable asset in this league.

What's our salary situation? I can't help but think we're making runs at Jamison and Haywood.

Looking at our situation:

If we don't renounce UPS, looks like we're at 45m right now. Salary cap is 58m. I think MKG gets 3-4m this year, Taylor will get his 1m. Let's say we're at 50m for math sakes.

So we have 8m to sign Sessions and whomever else. Also, I guess there's still an outside chance we amnesty TT.

per storytellers we are at 49,228,129, which does not include: derrick brown's QO of 1,085,000, taylors contract or session's contract. that only leaves us 8.7 mil to fit in brown, taylor, sessions and at least 1 veteran big man.

Which is exactly why they didn't trade DJ for someone like Hansbrough and simply rescinded his QO. They want that remaining money to throw at a veteran

Good. Would had been fine with 3 years as well, but 2 years is perfect. Not lets hope its 2 years at 7 million.

The length is perfect, now let's see the price. I'd be fine with something like 2/8 or 2/9. 2/10 is my "eh" point

We still need $$ to place an offer on Brendan Haywood who was given amnesty today by the Mavs. Getting our ducks in a row.

It is a shame we can't trade someone to get some relief, but nobody wants our stuff...

I like Sessions, and will welcome Haywood if he gets signed.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.
