Re: Hornets TV Coverage in NC/SC
Okay, here's a big question: I'm moving to North Dakota in a couple weeks for work. Does Fox Sports Go work out there if I still log on with my parent's TWC account? Or is it location locked?

Unless they have changed it in the past month the games will be location locked sadly.

Re: Hornets TV Coverage in NC/SC
Does Fox Sports Go only provide live streaming, or can I start games over and watch the whole thing?
Ballstreams died so I'm having to figure out how I'm going to watch Hornets games going forward. I may need to opt in to cable from TWC, they already do my internet. I'm not willing to search the internet before each game to find feeds to watch on a computer.

You can get NBA team pass for 60 bucks right now. It's a decent fork of cash but its an option

Only did Fox Sports Go on my phone but it was always live streaming only.

Oddly enough I've never actually used the app "on the Go," however the primary function of the app is for people (those with paid cable subscriptions anyway) to still be able to watch local market games even when they're outside of that market. So I'd imagine you'd be set just as long as you have valid login credentials from an account within the Hornets' range.

Fairly certain it's just a live broadcast. I've never used it for anything else but whenever I login it just gives me the option to livestream whatever is currently on their collection of channels.
So what happened to ballstreams? Cease and desist? Almost bought it this year.

People had been having renewal issues (initial subscription would expire and they wouldn't process renewals) so the writing was on the wall, but recently the website just completely disappeared and the apps stopped working. No official explanation was provided.

Yeah ballstreams is more or less gone now. Pretty much forced to get League Pass now.BlackOutBuzz wrote:MotorKeepsGoing wrote:Okay, here's a big question: I'm moving to North Dakota in a couple weeks for work. Re: Hornets TV Coverage in NC/SC
i have been flirting with cutting the cord but the hornets is really the only thing keeping me from canceling direct tv. the only option (not relying on someone else's account for fox go) is to run your router through a vpn and then your roku/device through the router and use league pass. it gets you out of the blackout.
i thought fox sports go would work but if you can't jump in late and start from the beginning or archive the game, it doesn't really help because i never watch live on time. i usually start the game an hour or so late and catch up with the dvr.

Ballstreams is having payment issues they can not find a company to take their payments and their customer service is freaking god awful. Open tickets sit unanswered for months, they are pretty much at the place that they dont give a damn if you use their service or not. SOOOOO im back to awful internet sites that barely work and league pass that blackouts my area because im local.
edit: I take it back it looks like its dead...they have been radio silent for months and now the website is down.

not that it was really in question, but confirmed today, 79 games on FoxSportSouthEast and the return of Eric, Dell and Steph.

Re: Hornets TV Coverage in NC/SC
I believe the other three are on ESPN or TNT, good stuff. And now that Sling has local Fox Sports Networks (ones I could never get with Time Warner) I may need to change my screenname as I should no longer be blacked out of the games.

Is it possible to record on Sling? Might drop TWC if so.

I don't believe so, at least not without any additional hardware. Though a lot of channels have a limited on-demand function for their main shows, these don't usually include sporting events.
I'm looking at getting a Tablo over the air DVR in order to record stuff from my antenna (mainly Panther games), but again that doesn't help here because there won't be any Hornets games on broadcast tv.
I don't know as much about PS Vue, but it's a similar service that I believe has some DVR options.

The problem with the Hornets being blacked out on DISH Network in Upstate, SC still exists. DISH keeps blaming the NBA so I have emailed the NBA and I'm waiting on a second reply from them. :fingers crossed:

Pacolet (near Spartanburg but on the Cherokee County, Gaffney side).
I watched every Hornets game on DISH Network last season sitting right here and there was no announcement of changes or anything and this has been maddening.
DISH has a game finder app but it is iffy. It shows the Hornets coverage going to Blacksburg but always blacked out in Gaffney, Spartanburg, Greenville, etc. I guess if the NBA emailing doesn't go as I'd like Then I will just need to try contacting the Hornets.

I will say I am also having this issue in Western NC near Asheville (same media market), hopefully we get it sorted out soon

Re: Hornets TV Coverage in NC/SC
I dropped everything and just stream fox sports go, it's much better this season with no drops in quality or random cutouts. Looks great. I use my restaurant's direct tv info to log in.
Buy a fire tv (preferably the box but the stick works too) and PM me. You can get games but not in the same quality. But for movies and TV, it's fantastic.
