Disappointed we haven't seen what Adrien can do. If he's not gonna get mins when we're down 30 in a game, then when? He must be stinking up the joint at practice.

I sure would like to get a look at what Jeff Adrien can do before Tyrus Thomas come back & bury him 6-feet deeper on the bench.

Only one big game, but I'm excited about Adrien's addition to the team. He brings a sorely lacking physical dimension to our frontcourt that makes him a good pairing alongside Haywood, whom he's more agile than, and Biz, whom he's more aggressive than. Despite Warrick's late high-flying dunk, I much prefer Adrien's style of play at PF.

Also, maybe Adrien's the guy who gets the Cats to buy into the D-League thing? Ten day call-ups start Jan 10 and we still have an open roster spot. Some 7 footers like Hassan Whiteside (now listed at 260, if that's true he's gained 35 lbs since leaving the Kings) and Jerome Jordan, have recently arrived from Europe to join the D League. SA, OKC & GS are three teams that liberally make use of the new D League assignment rules that allow players to be repeatedly assigned and recalled. The smart teams seem to be using the D League judiciously.

Charlotte Bobcats’ Jeff Adrien grabs his chance, runs with it

When it came time to cut Jeff Adrien in the preseason, Charlotte Bobcats coach Mike Dunlap said something encouraging that went beyond courtesy.

“You’ll be back,” Dunlap told Adrien, a journeyman power forward on an unguaranteed contract.

Dunlap meant the NBA, not specifically this Bobcats team. But those words proved prophetic. Several weeks into the regular season the Bobcats brought Adrien back. He’s the least acclaimed and lowest-paid of four Charlotte power forwards. He’s also the starter, at least until the injured Byron Mullens gets back in shape following a month off with a sprained ankle.

Adrien beat out Tyrus Thomas and Hakim Warrick for minutes, despite those two costing the Bobcats a combined $12 million this season. Thomas and Warrick are more talented, but Adrien won over Dunlap by being more intense, consistent and rugged.

“Predictable, physical,” is how Dunlap describes Adrien, who played college ball at Connecticut. “He’ll get in a crowd and get a tough rebound. He gives you someone who will show up every day.”

I did some research on our 5-man line-ups and stuff on 82games and bk-ref and it turns out that Rocky is one efficient player.

He's the only guy to have a positive +/- at +21 (take this with a grain of salt, Kemba and Sessions are in the last place, it obviously has a lot to do with playing time);

His on court/off court team net points per 48 minutes are at +13.8 as we are at +4.3 when he's on the court and -9.5 when he's off;

We give up 1.01 points per possession when he's on the court, a team best. We score 1.07, also a team best.

I know the sample size is small, but still 345 minutes are 345 minutes... Moreover, he has played plenty of starter's minutes as well, it's not like we insert him only during garbage time.

Charlotte Bobcats Shouldn’t Overlook Jeff Adrien

It’s never too late in the NBA for a player to try getting his team to take notice of his talents.
Jeff Adrien is asking the Charlotte Bobcats to give him a long look with only two games remaining on the schedule.
Adrien had a full stat sheet for the Bobcats against the Milwaukee Bucks Saturday night in a 95-85 victory. Charlotte got their monies’ worth from Adrien in 20 minutes of work. He had seven rebounds, four steals, three blocks and two assists. That’s almost a full day’s work right there. He was also 2-of-4 in shooting from the floor and 2-of-2 from the free-throw line for six points. But he accounted for himself nicely in the other areas.
Adrien has appeared in 50 Bobcat games this season and started in five, but he’s only averaging 13.8 minutes. His 42.6 percent field goal shooting from the floor is solid, but he’s only averaging 4.0 points and 3.7 rebounds a game.
The Bobcats would be wise to trade Adrien to another team that wants to use him for more minutes. It is his third year in the NBA. The Bobcats are his third team, and he’s been having his most productive season. His performance against the Bucks should remind Charlotte coaches that they need to take a close look at every player and see who’s going to give them contributions in various areas.
Adrien might be someone who can deliver in those unheralded parts of the game that can sometimes make a key difference between winning and losing.

He'll be a free agent at season's end. Hopefully we try to retain him. Probably give him about a extra $100-150K on his current deal to stick around. I think he deserves it.

Thats because trading him would be stupid. He has more value to Charlotte as a player then as a trade asset. Not to mention hes a 27 year old 6'7" pf.

Nobody else has blinked an eye at Adrien. We know what he brings to the table more than any other team does. I doubt any other team offers any more than the minimum.

I want to like adrien but i feel like he is just too damn short. I dont understand why we just can get a 6-10 version of him. I guess a 6-10 version of him wouldnt be rotting away in the D league
