Re: Bobcats Trade Warrick for McRoberts

Post#81 » by BlackOutBuzz » Sun Feb 24, 2013 1:01 am

Yeah I read about us paying the salary difference, and immediately became confused as to why we did the deal. Now it makes sense for them: they created another TPE, and lost nothing since it was just a swap of expirings and we threw in the cash difference. I guess if you're gonna pay the same amount for the third PF off the bench, go with the 25-year old over the 30-year old. But why help a division rival get another TPE to get a guy who's just gonna expire in a few months anyway? Maybe we wanna re-sign McRoberts...?

I think Warrick was just an excuse to get rid of Carroll. McBob is an excuse to get rid of Warrick. Cho and Co. just doing a little bit better each time. Incremental improvements.

The Bobcats traded Matt for Hakim, because Matt was doing nothing and Charlotte needed a big. They had similar contracts. If not Matt was probably going to get cut, but the Bobcats were definitely going to sign a big. Warrick served his role, eat up minutes and provide some offense....but he wasn't going to be a bobcat next year Warrick is 30, McRoberts is 25.

It was about getting someone who fit the team better without giving up any assets.

just watching mcbob in his very limited minutes last night you could see that he reads the game well, something lacking in most of our bigs. even though he was obviously clueless where he was supposed to be on offense (understandable since he has only been here two days) you could see an understanding of spacing and movement from him reminiscent of najera.

From what I've heard from Orlando fans, he's always clueless offensively.

From what I saw he has the jumpshot of Najera too.

I'm surprised that this trade has been worth discussing for 6 pages.

This is important. You could see he was looking to set picks and set up teammates. He also played "bigger" than Warrick or TT. Another area we desperately need help. I like McBob.

Hopefully we re-sign him and Hendo and draft Mason Plumlee, man that would be sweet to have 3 Dukies in our team.

I'm sure they will have to let one of Hill or Clarke go this offseason if they retain dwight or don't amnesty anyone. Either would be an ok cheap pickup

I HEART McBob

Post#99 » by Leolovinliberal » Thu Mar 21, 2013 1:42 am

His heart and hustle are infectious and contagious. He has single handedly turned around an otherwise moribund season with his passion. Great win tonight. McBob's a keeper.

Orlando's glaring mistake.
Humble yourself.
