yup, ended up taking a two hour nap, now back to watching summer league. what a way to spend your sunday. :-?

if the league outlawed scoring after an offensive rebound and alley oops, i'm pretty sure andre drummond would average less than 1 point per game.

but to his credit he is an absolute monster in the paint, steals, blocks, rebounds etc...

Drummond did a little bit of everything. Rebounds, blocks, steals, turnovers, fouls.

KCP was horrible.

Durmmond is nice I love how active he is but I was not a fan of KCP before the draft and I am even less of a fan now.

Drummond also slammed it off the backboard at 150 mph then pushed a man out of the way to get the put back. If he ever develops some touch he will be a beast.

if drummond didnt have meat hooks for hands he could be shaq. he's got the size, the body, the athleticism, the rebounding, blocks etc... but damn those meat hooks.

Lamb looked bad today as well. 5-16 shooting with 6 fouls.

We should trade Gordon for him.

Gordon could replace for them what they lost when Martin signed with the Wolves.

Doubt they view that as the answer... They do not have the money to do that trade either....

At the moment they would have to view Lamb as the answer, because they don't have anyone left - and I'm not sure Lamb is ready to play that super important role of a 6th man on a championship contending team.

Gordon can play that role.

I'd make it a three way with Perkins going some where in the deal.

Dear god, why did I watch so much Summer League today? Oh yeah, it was raining/thunderstorming every 15 minutes.

MCW looked okay, played like a PG should and really impressive slashing. Lots of TOs but you can expect that with not knowing your teammates at all. Dude can't shoot for chit though, Philadelphia is gonna have enough bricks to build 2 new arenas with that roster.

Terrence Jones continues to refine his game and is arguably better than T-Rob right now. Rodney Williams was solid and Patrick Beverly was almost literally in the jersey of anybody he was guarding. MCW will probably go to bed looking for Beverly under the bed and in the closet just to make sure. Game kind of sucked.

Boston v. Orlando was pretty good. Olynyk looked like poor man's Nowitzki and was having a nice battle with Nicholson over who was the better Canadian big that sucks at defense. Wolfpack sighting Courtney Fells didn't shoot often or well but played hard and pulled down some nice boards. Melo looked thinner and slightly better than worthless. Oladipo looked comfortable as the primary ballhandler (better than Burke anyway), knocking down pull up treys and being his usual athletic, defensive self. Had some TOs but they were 50/50 good ideas that his teammates just couldn't complete. Harkless was mad efficient and was just a quiet but deadly stud, kind of like Jean Reno from The Professional. O'Quinn brought his lunchpail and hardhat. Romero Osby should seriously make someone's roster if he shoots this well all the time.

Trey Burke played like DJ Augustin on methadone. Somewhere, even Brandon Knight is questioning that guy's PG skills. Burks was his usual effective but going through the motions looking self before he left with an injury. Rudy Gobert has a lot of slow-twitch and slower-twitch muscles. That guy couldn't beat Diaw in a footrace if Diaw was in reverse on his segway and his huskies were pulling in the opposite direction. He has a nice economy of motion though and really disrupts with his length. Everyone on Miami is terrible.

There are 3 things that Steven Adams does well. Rebound, block shots and screen and roll. Otherwise, on offense aside from a nice alley oop jam he looks like a lost puppy (no surprise). But he plays hard (dove on the floor constantly) and GD can that Kiwi block some shots. Probably the 3rd best big man defensive display today. #2 on that tip would be Miles Plumlee. He did his best Theo Ratliff impression and if he stopped shooting his garbage jumper then he would have a nice day. Jeremy Lamb played pretty well IMO. Just didn't shoot great but played stingy defense non-stop. Orton, Buycks, and Jerrett all had nice games. Orlando Johnson more or less shot Indiana out of the game but Justin Harper and every Pacer not named Solomon Hill chipped in some bricks too. Not a bad game.

Drummond had by far the most impressive defensive performance, a veritable one-man wrecking crew. Blocks, rips, and boards oh my. Had a bad even for him day on offense, his touch is usually really good around the rim. KCP looked like the big reach everyone thought he was and couldn't have shot worse if he was on PCP. Tony Mitchell (the fun to watch one) is a ridiculous athlete that will destroy everyone in his path if he can marry some skills to his physical gifts. Didn't do much for the stat sheet but I guarantee that more than one Net is suffering from PTSD. Mason Plumlee had to remind everyone that like his brother he too can throw down some nice dunks and rebound do not much else. Tyshawn Taylor looked better than last year.

I remember kember having a bad summer league last year. Couldn't hit anything. So I'm not gonna judge anyone.

This post may be a little premature, but OKC should be a little concerned that 2 of their expected contributors in Reggie Jackson & Jeremy Lamb aren't exactly dominating summer league like they should be. They are currently getting outplayed by a very young Orlando team. A trade might be in order to add some dependable depth to their bench if they want to be true contenders next year
