Booker had the best agility and shuttle times at the combine, has decent size, an elite skill that we need more than anything, and he's the youngest player in this class. Seriously, he was 17 at the start of Kentucky's season last year, he could have easily been a freshman this year. Booker is not a reach at 9 in my opinion.

I don't want anybody until I see/hear/read feedback from their workouts. I know my info is tiny compared to the team's analysis/interview/tryout. Booker could be the best shooter, at a position of need, but how slow is his burst? Are his weaknesses too much to draft top 10? We shall see.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

ESPN's NBA twitter account called us the Pelicans, they deleted the tweet in about 10 seconds lol.

I could care less for interviews. MKG could barely talk and we drafted him. Anyone can talk the talk, but can you walk the walk? I want to see his workouts

My main concern with this guy is that I'm afraid he's gonna be too one-dimensional. So many times at UK he would have a defender in position to attack the basket but he shied away from the opportunity and just passed it away or settled on a difficult jump shot. Or sometimes there would be a ton of space in a defense but he didn't try to make a play and he would just pass it to the next guy. There is some Klay in his game, but if he even wants to be 85% Klay (which btw, would make it a great pick) he's gonna have to change this mentality.

Well, he's from Iowa I think, like Harrison Barnes. Iowa is about as far away from the urban ghettos as it gets, my Belgian friend.

I'm starting to believe that this is who we're drafting. He just ooze of Cho pick to me.

There is no such thing as a Cho pick.

Whoever Cho pick with his pick of the litter is a Cho pick. Everybody have a preference of players. Some GMs may like a player a little rough around the edges. Some GMs may like players that are athletic and etc. Cho like high character guys. Out of all the guys in our draft range I don't think any of them are more high character with the skill set we need than Booker. That's my opinion. Here here.

There is something that cuts across every stereotype of a "Cho pick." Is PJ a Cho pick? Are you saying that Biz, Zeller, and Vonleh aren't athletic?

I really like that Booker went to bat for his teammates in that interview. He was asked about the criticism that WCS doesn't love basketball and it made him a little angry, he said that belief was "just stupid." He also already knows what to expect as a rookie in the NBA. He said that not everyone can be a Lebron or Carmelo and to make it in the NBA you have to find your niche. That's a pretty damn mature outlook for an 18 year old.

maybe, but this team needs a lebron or carmelo in the worst way. i would rather so much take an oubre and miss than have another "nice" player who knows his role. with that said, i think i would rather take johnson and hopes he becomes an alpha but be ok if he ends up being a role type guy.
