At least 1 guy in the projected starting lineup is getting bumped. That seems obvious

I think Marvin will receive some DNPs. He is just horrific defending the most important position in the league which is the 3. Unfortunately, at least right now I think Hairston may play over him if he can shed some weight.

Just not a big Marvin fan at small forward. Like him at the 4, but it's loaded there now.

I'm reaching. Just a hunch.

Me neither but he can kinda shoot. With the new players I think Clifford finds his 9-10 best regardless of position and then makes the lineups work. Enough versatility now to do that. Just Kemba and Al are married to a position.

The problem of starting Kemba, MKG, Cody, and Al is still the elephant in the room. Awful shooting that hasn't changed. It's not about who's best but what works best.

Well, hopefully Walker, MKG, and Zeller improve their shooting or were screwed period. Especially Walker. I can see where you're coming from though.

Marvin started early on last season but was outplayed by Zeller and thus went to the bench. I think we'll start our best players, but that may not be our most-used lineup. I think/hope we'll see a lot more variation and creativity with lineups this year.

Common logic would say Zeller, but I firmly believe he should be entrenched as the starting 4 until proven otherwise. Walker, Batum, MKG aren't going anywhere. If Jefferson comes into camp as a fat ass who knows.

To go through these roster changes and then roll out the worst shooting unit in the league - I'd bet against that. Starting is overrated anyways.

It's going to take me a while to recover from this. I don't care if he was a reasonable signing, I can't cheer for Hansbrough. Just can't do it.

We improved immensely between Henderson and Batum. Do you still think we'd be one of the worst shooting units in the league with Batum? We'd still probably be below league average, but it'd be a huge improvement from where we are.

Starting is indeed overrated. What would you suggest as our starting 5 to improve our shooting?

I can't imagine Frank starting right off.

Yeah the worst - esp since other teams also gravitating to shooters. Let's say Frank starts over Cody. Doesn't mean Frank plays more than 15 minutes - Cody can still get 30

I agree with Buzz, Marvin is the odd man out. He is offense only and was replaced by Zeller last year, Kaminsky and Hawes this year. Hansborough will inherit Biz's and Maxiell's tough assignments on D. The fact he can provide a little offense keeps
Margins butt on the bench even more. Marvin, PJ and Roberts are wasted roster spaces right now. None of them have any reason to play, ever. I still say go after Kevin Martin and use a pick if you need to.

If his contract is at least as big as Biz's, I might snap and go on a Michael Douglas-esque "Falling Down" rampage.

The 86-87 Celtics had Greg Kite, Bill Walton, Kevin McHale, Fred Roberts and Larry Bird. Could we be the first team ever since to have as many white PFs/Cs?

Image

Edit: I knew that I had to follow the careers of Brad Lohaus and Fred Roberts! Brad Lohaus, Danny Schayes, Fred Roberts, Frank Brickowski and Larry Krystowiak played on the same 91-92 Bucks. The year before it was an old Jack Sikma in the place of Krystowiak. Now that's a solid blah rotation of white bigs.

This is what I'm pissed about concerning my last comment on the Biz - Hansbrough swap.

Opponents scored 58.1% of their field goals at the rim when Hansbrough was defending them last season. Bigs worse than him among the ones who faced at least 3 field goal attempts per game - Tarik Black (his 24-game HOU stint), Amare Stoudemire (his 23-game DAL stint), Thaddeus Young, Reggie Evans, Adreian Payne (32 games total) and Robbie Hummel (44 games total)

Any word on the contract? I have no idea why we didn't just keep Biz, but for 3rd string it is a fine signing.
