Pretty sure that's how he was advertised to us, we fell for it. Maybe some other team will too

He’s one of the least aggressive players I’ve ever seen start an NBA game. His main goal seems to be just getting a nice sweat in and running around a bit.

This made me laugh. True too. Guy is ok as a bench Energy player but is not a good starter for sure.

Some comically bad Uber negative takes in here from the usual suspects.
From what they have said - Next year is pretty much "the learn to win year".
They won't try to tank unless all goes wrong injury wise. Gotta see what they have and what they lack after the draft and an off season of development to know what is realistic .
Try to make the playoffs organically unless they are extra good or bad.
At the trade deadline or next summer, they will likely make a big move with some of the picks stockpiled to fully build it out and then really go for it in 2026, with the new player development center, dialed in roster and spruced up arena ready to shine on a playoff run. With a further goal of staying good!
Now we need to land Flagg or at least Harper......

That was the plan they laid out in March 2024 and have followed so far despite injuries making a full tank necessary this year.
Hopefully their plan works.
I think 35-45 wins is the likely target for next year while evaluating their new guys/who should stay and still maintaining roster flexibility going forward.

Speaking of Josh Green, I saw this on reddit today

https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask?q=nba+most+games+with+25%2B+mins+played+and+under+5+points+scored+this+season

Josh Green has the most games with 25+ minutes played and fewer than 5 points scored this season, with 17 games

Next after Josh Green is KCP & Draymond with 11 games

Just keep hiring front office people who have never won anything, what could go wrong.

I was told Scnotkin is such a breath of fresh air, not just hiring old buddies like MJ and actually targeting the best guys for the jobs. It must just be a weird coincidence that we only hire Hawks washouts.

I think we gotta give them more then one off season in charge before we spend all day crying about possibilities.

Were the Schloztkins running our 2024 trade deadline? If so, I'm cool with them just acting as our GMs because the Hayward, PJ, and Rozier trades were the biggest steps to actual asset building anyone in this franchise has made since the 04 expansion.

Someone in the org actually made game changer moves, and somehow we got stuck with Jeff "Corporate Buzzwords" Peterson and Charles "More Corporate Buzzwords" Lee

I like seeing fans of teams like Boston and others complain about luxury taxes, aprons, not being able to add people, etc.

Good.

You shouldn't be able to toss out multiple max contracts and expect to add a bunch of high end guys to that.

Kind of the whole point.

Yeah they did that to prevent what teams like the Yankees used to do which is just outspend all of the other teams because they have the most money and always will. So that is good, but there's like 15 other things that get teams stuck. We know the league wants parity, but that parity is like a decade at a time based on how things are setup right now vs say the NFL where a bad team can make the playoffs the next season with free agency and a good draft.

NBA has 5 dudes on the court at any given time. having a top 10 player almost guarantees you'll be a top team.

NFL can't really say that aside from the QB and even then you have to have a good cast around them to even get close (look at Carolina Cam)
