I still like the idea of trading for Paul George and that Sixers lottery pick.

Imagine a scenario we come away with a Flagg or Harper with our own pick and possibly a chance at another top 7 prospect.

Sixers aren't giving up a lottery pick just to move off Paul George one year after signing him. Daryl Morey is going to be contending for his life this season.

Most likely, but they could still get 50 games out of him + playoffs. They still have Maxey, PG13 and now McCain. Believe me they are not in great position but their GM is in must win mode. I hope so much that they don't move up at all.

We should avoid trading for expensive Allstars near or over 30 years of age imo because 1) their acquisition, of even possible, would completely exhaust our warchest 2) they don't fit our timeline age-wise and 3) we lack the assets to complete those kind of deals anyway (Brown, Giannis and to a lesser extent Sabonis).

More realistic deals, that add significant potential upside, keep the roster young, and probably ensure they're in the running for yet another top 5 selection next year..

LaMelo to Houston (assuming they decline Van Fleets $41m player option) for Reed Shepherd / Cam Whitmore and Picks

LaMelo to Orlando for Franz + picks

Or

LaMelo to Bulls for s&t Giddy plus pix

Peterson needs to get the best player they can get in the draft AND make a move with Miles, Mark, Salaun, and/or picks to upgrade the frontcourt. The fans desperately need to see a competent, competitive team.

It's time to put all options on the table. We need size up front and we need players that help unlock our perimeter oriented skill players.

While unlikely, you put your hat in the ring for Giannis. But also:

Zion
Sabonis
JJJ if Memphis is ready to blow it up
Porzingis since Boston has a cap problem and now Tatum is cooked for a season
Vuc as Chicago was trying to move off of him for like 2 years and will be a FA after next

The goal would be to add any of them to LaMelo and ideally Miller. Some might take Mark and all would take draft capital except I guess Vuc.

This draft left a sour taste in my mouth. I'm done with the building through the draft. It's a gamble anyway because we haven't shown we can take the correct guy unless we get a top 2 pick.

Time to get some respect for this franchise. Nobody is feeling sorry for us. Go get a impact player and start playing for something.

MPJ is similar to Miller but I would rather have a player who was a significant part of a championship than a player who is pretty much an avatar for everything wrong with this franchise post-Kemba.

Maybe MPJ embraces playing the stretch 4?

I still like Lauri Markkanen on this roster. His new contract is unfortunate, but it should also reduce the pick value it would take to get him. Its very easy for the Hornets to match salary (Miles + Nurkic).

Oh sorry lol. I misread your post. I didn't realize you were saying trade the #4 pick (I read it as "make a move for to get a vet lol").

I just meant that I like him as a trade target in general. I was thinking Miles + Nurk + a future pick. I'm not interested in trading the #4 pick.

that's really not that much... there are other targets i like more than Lauri but I wouldn't have a fit if we did that

If we were including miles the Jazz would have to send something else back. I don't consider the gap between lauri and miles to be 4th pick type of gap gap. i'd do miles + dallas or miami pick, maybe one of our high 2nds.
