No thanks. Z-Bo can't defend and is a black hole on offense. Z-Bo and Al wouldn't work together.

Just lol at a Big Al - ZBo pairing. Not that it couldn't work, but I don't think it would.

LMAO if we sign Z-Bo. That's grounds for firing the whole FO.

Runs the floor well... Very athletic... Can play several positions... Pretty weak... Three-point shot is not a strength... Lacks confidence... Looks afraid to shoot sometimes.
Who does that sound like?
Wrong! It's not Cody Zeller!
It's Jan Vesely, ufa! Anybody want to sign him lol?

I'm actually interested in gauging trade interest for the player on the roster that does sound like that
Zeller & Vesely had similar rookie seasons. Like Zeller, Wizards fans were enamored with what Vesely could be if he ever developed a consistent jump shot, but it never happened

Re: 2014 Free Agency Thread
So, Rich Cho and Josh McRoberts went shopping at the Los Angeles Lakers Urestricted Free Agent Role Player Supermarket together.
They strolled past:
Jordan Hill
Wesley Johnson
Xavier Henry
Kent Bazemore
Chris Kaman
Jodie Meeks
Jordan Farmar
Steve Blake (alumni dept.)
But when they got to Ryan Kelly, Josh McRoberts asked excitedly, "How much is that doggie in the window?"
Cho: "No, Josh, we already have a puppy named Cody."
Josh: "But I WANT him. I want a puppy of my own. I'll take care of him myself. I promise, Cho."

Is that a tricky question? For me, I guess it is.

Re: 2014 Free Agency Thread
Good value pick ups...
Jodie Meeks
Greivis Vasquez
Channing Frye
Avery Bradley
Older guys who could give us solid minutes for cheap... wouldnt mind snagging one of these guys if price is right.....
Paul Pierce
Vince Carter
Jason Richardson
Ray Allen
Could see all these guys wanting to play for Jordan in Charlotte and provide veteran experience in playoffs.

Re: 2014 Free Agency Thread
The Bobcats and Lakers are most likely to sign Greg Monroe
There’s “near certainty” among executives around the NBA that the Pistons’ hiring of Stan Van Gundy as coach and president of basketball operations signals that the team won’t bring back restricted free agent Greg Monroe, reports Sean Deveney of The Sporting News. The Bobcats and Lakers are the teams that league executives believe are most likely to sign Monroe to maximum-salary offer sheets, and they think the Pelicans, in Monroe’s native Louisiana, will be one of the big man’s preferred destinations, according to Deveney.

Ill believe all of this when it happens. Just like were the most likely to sign Rudy Gay. Since we have cap space and are wanting to improve from this past season we are more than likely going to be rumored with every half decent free agent in the league.

Good thing we're not going to be the Bobcats then. Lol

Re: 2014 Free Agency Thread
Can we sign and then trade him for Ryan Anderson and Jrue Holiday? B/c that's the only way I'd happy with signing Monroe.

Re: 2014 Free Agency Thread
first we are linked to randolph, now monroe? two players who would be better suited to try and replace jefferson than play next to him.

Jrue Holiday?
I would rather Tyreke Evans as a dual combo guard. As far as Ryan Anderson, I wonder if he'll return to form after that spinal injury. Injuries like that can alter careers for the worst

Tyreke, aka Hendo with handles? I'll pass. At least Jrue can shoot a little and isn't as expensive.

seems SVG is a big monroe fan. perhaps that charlotte and lakers talk is just his agent driving up his value.

All moot, because Monroe would do a sign-and-trade with Detroit to New Orleans. There's no incentive in doing a sign-and-trade with another team other than the Pistons since they have the advantage to sign him to a lengthier & heftier contract as the team that own his rights
The Pelicans are one of the few teams that could cover Monroe's defensive deficiencies since they have Anthony Davis, so I think that would be a good signing for them if they can find a taker for Eric Gordon or Tyreke Evans. There's no way New Orleans part ways with Holiday this soon after all they've done to trade for him and after one unhealthy half season from him

Re: 2014 Free Agency Thread
In a sign and trade with us they'd probably want our pick back.
Look this could be Jefferson's last season with us if he opts out for more money. Monroe is as good a candidate as any to take his place. What is he 23? He's very polished for his age and if Clifford can hide Big Al on defense he can do the same for Monroe.
I'd love to have him. I wouldn't trade back our pick though.
The Blazers pick, absolutely.
I'd even throw in MKG.

Re: 2014 Free Agency Thread
1)It's smart to plan for life after Big Al since he can opt out after the upcoming season
2)It's smart to price out the Pistons or at least drive up the price and make it harder for them to get good value in a sign and trade due to a possible max deal. Getting Monroe off the Pistons is a double kill - it moves us up in playoff positioning and moves the Pistons down.
