First, where did this rumor come from?

Second, I'd probably say no, BUT...need to consider it. Getting both Tyrus and Diop off our backs would be great. Dalembert is a team option while Kevin Martin is expensive but in his final year. We'd still get some good quality with the quantity at the draft, but few likely impact players. The future 1st would be nice. Still, it's an earthquake type of deal that would shift everything rather quickly.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I'd consider it but it gives us a lot more work to do. Martin and Gordon are pretty redundant and we'd have to find a way to trade 2 of those picks to move back up imo.

I love this time of the year because of all the rumors circulating. I heard one on earlier today that is being talked about with the Rockets.

Bobcats receive:

future first, protected

Rockets receive:

Tyrus Thomas
Desagana Diop
Reggie Williams
#2 pick
#31 pick

thoughts? Anyone hear anything about this?

PS-I loved the trade for Gordon you guys did.

all we are going to hear is "rumors" for the next 36 hours. if we had a new thread for every rumor we heard, our entire 1st page would be nothing but trade rumors.

anyway...

why trade for kevin martin now that we just traded for ben gordon? that gives us 3 starting quality shooting guard - martin, gordon and henderson and none of those 3 are really big enough to slide to small forward full time. we definitely collect assets in this deal, getting 3 first round picks as well as a future 1st and we get rid of some bad contracts as well. what is left on martin and dalembert's deals compared to tyrus, diop and reggie? and who are the rockets targeting with #2? or do they plan to use that in the howard package?

This 631_Heat poster has a history of posting "rumored" trades that have no substance.

Think nothing of it....................untill it's announced later today!!

That's fine with me... but I don't think Washington wants Barnes. I think they want either Beal or MKG personally, and if they were both gone, might actually pick Waiters in that spot.

He's not their first choice but from various reports, Washington like Barnes quite a bit.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

I don't know why but I'd be in heaven if we got Martin to go with Gordon. No #31 though; grease the pig.

However, realistically speaking, I think we could pull that deal off and flip Martin to Minnesota. If they could work out the cap logistics, I'd be cool with Darko and a pick. Dalembert could probably go to Sacramento for #36 straight up.

Not a rumor. Just a question. Say the Wizards approach Charlotte about a #2 for #3 swap. They will also swap the recently acquired Ariza for TT. Ariza is less money, 1 year less Contract, and fills a SF need. Is that enough of an incentive to swap and fall back to #3? You still get either T-Rob, Barnes or MKG.

I'd probably ask for their 2nd rounder, but I'd do it.

Here's my desired speculation trade scenario, which I'm sure has no chance of happening. It would have to follow a successful deal with Cleveland for the 4 & 24:

Charlotte trades Kemba Walker, pick #24 and our 1st rounder Portland owes us to the Trailblazers for #6 & #11. At 6 we select Damian Lillard. Presuming we still got Robinson at 4, we select Moe Harkless at 11. If we select Barnes at 4, we select the best big available between Drummond, Leonard, Zeller or Henson. Portland gets their PG in Walker, another young player at 24 and secures their pick back for the future.

Why deal Walker? I really believe Lillard will be a big-time player at PG. Not a pure 1, but more of a playmaker than Kemba while being a superior shooter, scorer and taller defender. Lillard would truly be the "Westbrook" in Cho's design. Harkless is rising up the boards and would probably be a choice based on Dunlap as well as the database, but maybe they'd pick somebody else. If Robinson was taken at 3rd we had to pick Barnes at 4, there is the potential for Drummond to fall to 11 or further (David Aldridge has him going to Houston at 16), but Leonard or Henson are also primed for development and would be available at 11.

PG - Lillard, veteran FA - or Lillard, veteran FA
SG - Henderson, Gordon - or Henderson, Gordon
SF - Harkless, UPS - or Barnes, UPS
PF - Robinson, Tyrus - or Drummond, Tyrus
C - Biz, Mullens - or Biz, Mullens

Fire away!! 8-)
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Sam Amick at SI.com says both Houston (#14,16,18) and Portland (#6, 11) are both looking to grab #2 from Charlotte. I like Portlands #6 and 11 better than I do the Cavs #4 and #24.

It just hit me, we tanked last year, had one of, if not, the worst seasons ever in league history, we get the second pick in the draft and select Thomas Robinson? A 6'8 power forward with limited scoring abilities, and he's not known for being a great defender! We have many teams jockeying for position to get an immediate impact player on the wing and we are settling for Robinson? If we pick him, this may be a draft pick as bad as the Ammo pick or Sean May.

#14,16,18 is garbage value, i'd be pissed if we took that trade for #2

That would be great if we came away with all that. Clearly not likely to fall in place like you stated but I would be happy with that. I like the first set better.

Honestly, so do I. Barnes or MKG may very well fall to 6 if a team (Sacramento?) goes with Drummond in the top 5.

Barnes/MKG/Drummond/Lillard at 6

Same here. I'd like us to stay in the top 5 if we trade down so we are at least able to take one top prospect. Also if we didn't I feel idiotic for the amount of time I've spent reading about all those guys.

I'm expecting a trade of some sort and I'm fully confident Cho will pull off something exciting. I love the Ben Gordon trade and I think we will be happy on this board with whatever he does.
