ruined the franchise for years due to his meddling in trades/drafts and crapped the bed with a really good roster

i still haven't forgotten reading the story about how MJ and Silas actually felt the need to apologize to Augustin's parents

but seeing that LB was let go right before new years was one of the best feelings i've ever had in sports

Biyombo and 6 to Charlotte, 11 and Dwight to Orlando. Let's do this!

I'm super amused by this, especially considering Biyombo & Augustin.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Honestly surprised by this, Clifford seems like the perfect lifelong assistant coach, surprised he's getting another crack as Head Coach. Feels like a backwards move for ORL, better them than us

You got to understand, from the eyes of the magic, Steve Clifford is the greatest coach ever. I mean he has beaten them like 12 consecutive times.

I do think he'll at least get them to 40 wins in the next couple of years. Probably not where they want to be is a franchise, fighting for that eight seed.

So since Orlando has given up on anything that resembles developing a player I say Howard and Kemba for Biyombo, Augustine, Ross and 6

Wonder what the Magic are giving us for Dwight, its almost too perfect a fit now that his biggest fan is down there and its his original team

I'm very intrigued with how Cliff will use some of their players. Fournier, Gordon, and Vucevic to be specific.

Predictions:

Vucfense (similar to Alfense, but more jumpers), Fourner will be the one who takes the last shot (always a jumper from 25ft) and Gordon goes to the shame corner (is he a PF or a SF?!?!)

Yeah, feels like that has to be an interesting proposition for them. He can give them the same sales pitch that we got for Big Al - Cliff can design a system around him that can elevate them to respectability while simultaneously building stability for the franchise. Not sure how attractive that would be for them.

I think it will be very attractive to them. It may have even been a factor for hiring Clifford in the first place. I have little doubt that they'd be happy to bring Dwight back to Orlando. The question on our side is what would we want from them?

All the Magic fans I've spoken to in real life (and read on the GB) are still very upset at the way Howard exited. It's questionable at best whether that reunion would help or hurt fan support. A couple of the Orlando faithful I know are actually season ticket holders and they're on the fence about renewing (but probably will, given the 6th pick should be an exciting player) they both also said point-blank if Howard comes back their season tickets will not be picked back up and they likely won't be buying them in the future either.

The animosity is very strong. Cliff is dense as hell though, so he probably doesn't realize or give a damn anyway. I'd love to drop D12 on them for something semi-useful, but it really isn't in Orlando's best interest on the basketball or business side.

Cliff is going to flame out hard down there, I'm afraid. He is not an improvement on Vogel, nor a breath of fresh air in terms of basketball philosophy. One less division rival to be concerned about.

Good luck to Cliff, he is a decent coach...now someone trade howard to them like right now.

Seems like he has a reputation for player veterans over younger players. Orlando Magic is a young team so he has to play Gordon, Isaac, Birch and whoever they draft this year.
