Tyrus Thomas would destroy Salaün in a pickup game. Today.

The problem is the classic Charlotte approach:

We have a bunch of lazy dipshits so let's draft the grinder

oh no the grinder sucks so let's draft the polished guy

oh no the polished guy isn't a star either let's draft the high potential guy

oh no the high potential guy is a bust we need someone who works hard

I want Jeff Peterson’s resignation tonight if he selects Knueppel at #4. I will lose any and all remaining confidence in the Peterson-Lee regime if they do that.

A preemptive reminder tonight to be civil and respectful to fellow posters. No matter what happens tonight there's going to be some disappointed and potentially upset fans that aren't happy with whatever direction the front office decided to move. Don't let it spill into personal attacks, derailing threads etc...

If someone does cross the line simply report the post and don't feel the need to engage or flame the situation to make it worse.

thanks

How about we trade the pick to give them the traded Hornet Kobe/SGA blessing, then void the trade on a BS physical a la Lakers to retrieve the now blessed future superstar MVP. Only concern being that this could create some kind of Final Destination scenario. We’d be messing with some powerful forces here

If indeed that was their thinking, Peterson and Clifford the dog deserve immediate dismissal. Agree with your previous statement….you don’t bring in a rookie, even if he grinds, expecting that to lead a team of goof offs into change. MAYBE if you drafted MJ last year, had he gone back in time, but no freaking way Tiddy moves any needles. Has to be a major near star veteran who won’t take s#*+ from anyone, and demands work while setting his example.

We don’t need amateur hour again tonight. It’s been my biggest fear with Jeffie and the boys…and this rehash is giving me a rash.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I really think they just hated all the prospects last year and thought too highly of Mark Williams so they took a shot in the dark with Tidjane.

That said, they've been pretty disappointing so far, and really need to nail this offseason, because we cannot be tanking again next year in year 6 of LaMelo. It's absolutely ludicrous. Especially with other teams around us like Washington, Detroit, and Atlanta making smart decisions

The idea of using two drafts in a row on suboptimal talent to try and fix the professionalism of our dumbass “core” that can’t even stay healthy is so crazy dude. If it’s that big of a problem just cut bait and rebuild, good lord. Stop throwing good money after bad

Players that work hard, have the needed glue to bond this team, and would have make our stars pop have been available in FA and trades and the franchise has just completely whiffed or not cared about finding them (probably both). That includes: Tari Eason, Josh Hart, Dyson Daniels, Alex Caruso, Austin Reeves, Jarrett Allen, Chris Paul, Jrue Holliday, Deni Avdija (easily could have been had last offseason for the 6th pick or a trade down)

You can't start now and draft one at 4. You need to identify the next iterations that will be available in trade or FA. My current guesses are Lonzo Ball (if healed), Jeremy Sochan, Porzingis (too late, ATL stole him), Norm Powell (might be too old at this point), Jaylin Williams (the other OKC JWill), Derrick White (way too expensive in trade and out of our reach)

The idea that a 19 year old is gonna change the mindset and locker room of a bunch of grown men is so dumb and such a ridiculous reason to draft someone.
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?

As expected the Hornets aren't making any trades until they know for sure that VJ is gone. Part of me wishes they would just trade up to the Sixers in secure the guy they want but no idea what the six Sixers asking prices for that swap.
